Netflix fans have just stumbled on a game-changing search hack- and it's really handy
Viewers have just discovered the old hack Netflix fans have stumbled upon an easy search trick that'll sort out your movie night in a flash. With its vast array of movies and TV series, navigating Netflix's content can be a tad overwhelming when looking for something specific. But thanks to an eagle-eyed X (formerly Twitter) user, there's a nifty way to avoid endless scrolling, and some viewers might already be savvy to it. Over on social media, the user exclaimed: "OMFG. Just realised I can search by actor on Netflix." They added, making light of their 'first world problem,' before tipping off others: "When you can't recall a film type in the actor's name!" If you pop an actor's name into Netflix's search bar, it will display all of their available works on the service. Testing the hack with Robert Pattinson displayed his 2019 historical flick The King, as well as The Batman and The Devil All the Time, reports Surrey Live. And that's not all – the results even categorise the star's body of work by genre. Take Viola Davis, for instance; searching her name pulls up 'Emotional Drama Films.' This curated list boasts her 2020 hit Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, where she dazzles as the tempestuous title character. Not to mention, Brad Pitt fans are treated to a collection spotlighting his 90s classics, including gems like Meet Joe Black and Interview With the Vampire. The search engine also recognises writers and directors' names. Article continues below Although this feature is impressive, Netflix is reportedly testing an AI-powered search tool that goes "well beyond genres or actors' names." The new feature, developed by ChatGPT creator OpenAI, will allow viewers to "look for shows using far more specific terms, including the subscriber's mood," according to a Bloomberg report. This will allow viewers to find tailored recommendations without digging through the streamer's catalogue. Currently, the tool is being tested on iOS devices for some viewers in Australia and New Zealand, with plans to expand to other countries soon.

Viola Davis Recalled Feeling 'Judgemental' Of Chadwick Boseman On The Set Of The Last Movie He Ever Made — And It's A Lesson To Us All
Viola Davis 's heartbreaking story about working with the late Chadwick Boseman is a good reminder to think before you judge. In 2019, Viola and Chadwick were together filming the movie adaptation of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, which came out in 2020 and earned them both Oscar nominations the following year. In a new interview with the Times, Viola recalled that Chadwick received extra attention on set, like his then-girlfriend, Simone Ledward Boseman, and his makeup artist rubbing his back and playing meditative music. Looking back, Viola said she couldn't help but raise eyebrows at Chadwick's special treatment. 'There was a part of me that was a little judgmental — why do you need all that,' she recalled of her costar. 'Little did I know that they were doing it because he was dying,' she added. As I'm sure you know, Chadwick tragically died of colon cancer in August 2020 when he was 43 years old, meaning Ma Rainey's Black Bottom was his last ever film. In a statement at the time of his death, it was shared that he had privately been undergoing cancer treatment for four years — while also still managing to make movies. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in 2016, which eventually progressed to stage four. While managing chemotherapy and 'countless surgeries,' Chadwick worked on tons of films, like 21 Bridges, Da 5 Bloods, and, of course, Black Panther. As Viola's story illustrates, Chadwick's death was a huge shock, even to those who worked closely with him. Notably, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler heartbreakingly recalled in 2022 that he was so shocked by Chadwick's passing that he called Denzel Washington — who was a producer on Ma Rainey's Black Bottom — to check it wasn't an awful hoax. 'I got a call from my manager, Charles King. He called and told me, and I didn't want to believe it, so I called Denzel, and I spoke to him, and we thought it might be a rumor, so I texted Chad,' he remembered. 'I was in denial.' Taylour Paige pregnant with first child
Taylour Paige is expecting her first child. The Zola actress announced her pregnancy news on Instagram on Monday by posting a photo in which she wore a form-fitting white dress that hugged her baby bump. She did not caption the post. The 34-year-old received congratulatory messages in the comments from fellow celebrities. "Omg YEASSS. Sooo happy for you," wrote Lily Collins, who became a mum in January, while Aja Naomi King posted, "Oh Congratulations," with multiple heart emojis. Actors Rachel Zegler, Julia Fox, Laura Harrier and Jay Ellis also reacted to Taylour's happy news. This will be the first child for the Ma Rainey's Black Bottom actress and her fashion designer husband Rivington Starchild, who have been married since October 2022. Earlier this month, Taylour opened up about her battle with endometriosis, a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it. In an Instagram post, she revealed that she experienced "so much agony and turmoil" over the 20 years it went undiagnosed. She underwent surgery in 2023 and candidly shared pictures of her scars in honour of Endometriosis Awareness Month. Taylour experienced her breakout film role with Zola in 2020, but she has also starred in the TV show Hit the Floor and the films Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Mack & Rita and White Boy Rick.

August Wilson's nephew recounts being raised by the great playwright from the Hill District
The story of August Wilson is one of unlikely and impressive success. He grew up poor, born to a black mother and white father, in Pittsburgh's Hill District in the 1940s. He dropped out of high school and managed to become one of America's biggest and most famous playwrights. 'This room was the bedroom, the living room. It was everything,' Paul Ellis Jr. said. He is one of Wilson's nephews. Ellis' mom and Wilson were among six siblings who grew up in a two-room apartment at 1727 Bedford Avenue in the Hill District, a building that now bears Wilson's name. Wilson was raising by Daisy Wilson, also known as Daisy Kittle. She worked as a custodian at the same courthouse where Ellis now works as an attorney. 'My grandmother was a very, very hard worker,' Ellis said. 'And she was strict about family values and family tradition.' Some of her strict rules pertain to the family always sitting down for dinner together, and education was very important in her household. August Wilson secretly dropped out of high school but would spend long days at the library educating himself. Despite never receiving formal theatre training, he has since been called 'the theatre's poet of Black America.' 'If he had a story and you were willing to listen to it, he could just tell stories all day,' Ellis said. 'And he was a phenomenal storyteller, as we know.' Wilson wrote a cycle of ten plays which covered every decade of the 20th century. They chronicle the African-American experience and are almost exclusively set in the Hill District. Fences and The Piano Lesson won the Pulitzer Prize. Both, along with Ma' Rainey's Black Bottom were adopted into movies with star-studded casts. Among them are actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Viola Davis and Denzel Washington. Washington was there in January when Wilson was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. For Ellis, he is in awe of his uncle for all his contributions to the arts but cherishes even more the special family moments he shared with his 'Uncle Freddy.' 'When I lost my father, he stepped in to help my mother raise me,' Ellis said. 'I know the world doesn't know him like that, but we just – we called him Uncle Freddy.' He says his uncle was authentic, humorous and had good morals. He also said Wilson would bounce story lines and character development off the family during gatherings at loved ones' homes. 'We would be listening to my uncle tell stories about plays that he was working on. And then a year later, we'd be on Broadway watching those same plays,' Ellis said. He credits his love and appreciation for the arts to his uncle and says he picked up some other lessons from him along the way, too. 'I was the only one who stayed up late at night with him, listening to his stories,' Ellis said. 'He also taught me how to play dominoes, you know. If I had a beer, he wouldn't say anything,' he said with a big grin. Ellis bought the apartment his uncle was raised in, as well as the entire building. It is now known as the August Wilson House and is designated as a historic landmark. 'He might not have thought about a fancy theater on Broadway or a National Historic Landmark in The Hill District of Pittsburgh, but he would appreciate deeply what they represent, which is progress and opportunity, and fulfilling dreams of others,' Ellis said.
