Netflix fans have just stumbled on a game-changing search hack- and it's really handy
Netflix fans have stumbled upon an easy search trick that'll sort out your movie night in a flash.
With its vast array of movies and TV series, navigating Netflix's content can be a tad overwhelming when looking for something specific.
But thanks to an eagle-eyed X (formerly Twitter) user, there's a nifty way to avoid endless scrolling, and some viewers might already be savvy to it.
Over on social media, the user exclaimed: "OMFG. Just realised I can search by actor on Netflix."
They added, making light of their 'first world problem,' before tipping off others: "When you can't recall a film type in the actor's name!"
If you pop an actor's name into Netflix's search bar, it will display all of their available works on the service. Testing the hack with Robert Pattinson displayed his 2019 historical flick The King, as well as The Batman and The Devil All the Time, reports Surrey Live.
And that's not all – the results even categorise the star's body of work by genre. Take Viola Davis, for instance; searching her name pulls up 'Emotional Drama Films.'
This curated list boasts her 2020 hit Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, where she dazzles as the tempestuous title character.
Not to mention, Brad Pitt fans are treated to a collection spotlighting his 90s classics, including gems like Meet Joe Black and Interview With the Vampire. The search engine also recognises writers and directors' names.

Although this feature is impressive, Netflix is reportedly testing an AI-powered search tool that goes "well beyond genres or actors' names."
The new feature, developed by ChatGPT creator OpenAI, will allow viewers to "look for shows using far more specific terms, including the subscriber's mood," according to a Bloomberg report. This will allow viewers to find tailored recommendations without digging through the streamer's catalogue.
Currently, the tool is being tested on iOS devices for some viewers in Australia and New Zealand, with plans to expand to other countries soon.
