Black Panther 3: Angela Bassett on if Queen Ramonda Will Be Resurrected

Actress Angela Bassett, who has portrayed Ramonda in multiple entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reflected on how her character could return in Black Panther 3 during a new interview. Notably, Ramonda, who became the sovereign of Wakanda following the death of her son T'Challa, was killed herself when Tenoch Huerta Mejía's Namor attacked her country in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bassett has expressed interest in returning as Ramonda in Black Panther 3 and speculated on how her character could appear despite being killed in the previous movie. During her appearance on Good Morning America, the hosts asked her about her latest feature, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and brought up how her Black Panther co-star, Michael B. Jordan, made an appearance at the premiere to support her. One Good Morning America host observed, 'We're talking about 'Mission: Impossible.' It was thrilling…Michael B. Jordan was there, supporting you,' before adding, 'And of course, a lot of people are like, 'Oh my goodness,' talking about Wakanda. Another movie, perhaps a third one.' 'That would be wonderful,' Bassett said in response. She later hypothesized that the character could appear in Black Panther 3 in a scene involving the Ancestral Plane. She said, 'I could be there. You know? It could happen. I would, absolutely.' In the MCU, the Ancestral Plane is an astral dimension where people of Wakanda go after their death. Previously, Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa interacted with his dead father in the Ancestral Plane in Black Panther. A similar encounter happened between Letitia Wright's Shuri and Jordan's Killmonger in Wakanda Forever. Accordingly, it could potentially be how Bassett reprises her role. Notably, Bassett received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Ramonda in Wakanda Forever. During the above-mentioned interview, when another host said that 'we all' wanted Bassett to appear in Black Panther 3, the actress agreed. 'We do. Everyone wants it to happen,' she said. As per reports, the third Black Panther movie could come out in 2028. Originally reported by Tamal Kundu on SuperHeroHype. Daniel Day-Lewis, Bryan Cranston, Henry Cavill and more rumoured for MCU X-Men roles following 'Secret Wars'

New MCU X-Men casting rumours suggest Daniel Day-Lewis, Bryan Cranston, Cynthia Erivo, and Henry Cavill may be considered for leading roles in Marvel's next phase of mutant storytelling. These updates follow Avengers: Secret Wars and hint at a return to more traditional character portrayals. Daniel Day-Lewis has been linked to the role of Magneto. Despite retiring from acting, some insiders claim Marvel is pursuing him, though the prospect of the 68-year-old actor committing to a long-term franchise remains doubtful. Denzel Washington has also been rumoured, especially with his confirmed role in Black Panther 3. Bryan Cranston is said to be a contender for Professor Charles Xavier. While his performance as Walter White made him a household name, fans have mixed reactions to his potential casting as Xavier. He has previously expressed interest in playing the villain Mr Sinister. Coleman Domingo is another name reportedly on Marvel's radar. For Storm, Cynthia Erivo has emerged as a leading rumoured pick. The Wicked star has voiced interest in the role. Additional names floated include Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Jodie Turner-Smith. Rumours around Cyclops feature Patrick Schwarzenegger and Harris Dickinson. While Dickinson may be unavailable due to filming commitments, Schwarzenegger's name continues to circulate based on recent speculation. Henry Cavill has been linked to Wolverine following Deadpool & Wolverine, though Marvel is also reportedly interested in keeping Hugh Jackman active in the role. Legacy X-Men actors including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden will return for Avengers: Doomsday. Jake Schreier is rumoured to direct the X-Men reboot, with Michael Lesslie writing the script.

Marvel Studios Reportedly Approached Ryan Coogler to Direct X-MEN Reboot — GeekTyrant

Before Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier shot to the top of the list of filmmakers to take on Marvel's X-Men movie, a new report reveals that the studio also had its sights on Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler at one point. According to veteran film journalist Jeff Sneider: 'I know they did talk to Ryan Coogler at one Coogler, with the timing, you know, he'd have to focus on Black Panther 3. He's needed in another corner of the universe.' Coogler is currently riding high with his genre-bending vampire thriller Sinners , which is breaking box office records. But it's easy to see why Marvel would consider him as he's proven he can build complex characters, tap into rich cultural themes, and deliver spectacle with heart. That's the kind of balance an X-Men movie needs, and Schreier will be able to deliver that as well. His work on the Netflix series Beef and Thunderbolts* was awesome, and with Thunderbolts scoring an 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, it seems Feige and company are happy with what the filmmaker delivered. As for where the X-Men reboot stands creatively, Michael Lesslie ( The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes ) was brought in last May to write the first draft. But if Marvel's history is any indication, expect more writers to join in before production gets underway. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has made it clear that the return of the mutants is central to the next chapter of the MCU. In an earlier interview, he shared: '...knowing that, thanks to various corporate studio entity deals, we now have 1000s of characters back — characters I hadn't frankly thought about in many years because we didn't have the rights to them. "Now that we do, it is great fun thinking [about who we can finally use]. Our animated series X-Men '97 was sort of the first taste of people reuniting with the X-Men mythology and that storyline. The response to that series just further excited us about how to bring the soap opera and the saga of the mutants to the MCU." There was also talk at one point of Jordan Peele taking the reins of an X-Men project, but those discussions reportedly didn't go far, as he's focused on telling original stories. With the Multiverse Saga wrapping up in a few years, the X-Men are expected to take center stage in the MCU's future. Feige 'has told colleagues he has a 10-year plan' for the X-Men characters after they are properly and formally introduced into the MCU. It's going to be really interesting to see how this next X-Men movie turns out.

Jordan Movie (EXCLUSIVE) Critics and others who saw advance screenings of the new film from the 'Black Panther' director are praising the film for being smart, sexy and spooky. Slashfilm writer BJ Colangelo wrote on X, 'Ryan Coogler has solidified his place as one of the greats (more than he already has) with #Sinners. As good as you think it's going to be, it's better. Scary, SEXY, and social commentary with a hell of a bite.' Indiewire contributor Jim Hemphill posted about 'Sinners' screening in 70mm at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles, writing 'This is incredibly exciting news. #SinnersMovie is a bold blast, easily one of my favorite studio releases of the last 10 years. Can't wait to see it in 70mm at my favorite first run theater!' Tiktoker Alex Coleman of Dark of the Movie kept it short and to the point on X: 'Sinners is a fucking banger. Coogler you genius.' Film critic Peter Gray wrote, '#Sinners is exactly the vampire joint you'd expect Ryan Coogler to make. The way he interweaves music to make it its own character is masterful. Michael B. Jordan is superb, Jack O'Connell enjoyably unsettling, Hailee Steinfed a minx in the best way. Gory, horny, relevant.' Nick L'Barrow of NickFlicksFix wrote on X, 'I LOVED #SINNERS! It's a tense, sensual, transcendent film that is Coogler's most beautiful looking film to date. The score is not only fantastic, but such an integral part of a narrative about the cultural and magical impact of music. Michael B. Jordan kills in the dual role.' Film critic Aaron Neuwirth said, 'I had a blast with @SinnersMovie. Far wilder than some may expect. Ryan Coogler brings so much style to this very cool blend of a specific period, genres, and Black culture. Best vampire film I've seen in years. See it in 70mm IMAX if you can!' Ryan Coogler hopes to work with Denzel Washington on 'Black Panther 3'

Filmmaker Ryan Coogler would like to work with Denzel Washington on Black Panther 3. Speaking on the Nightcap podcast with hosts Shannon Sharpe and Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, Coogler affirmed that he plans to cast Washington in the next superhero installment, according to Variety. "I've been dying to work with Denzel. I'm hoping we can make that happen. I've got every intention of working with him on that movie. As long as he's interested, man, it's going to happen. He's a living legend and a great mentor for so many of us. He's all about looking out for us, now," Coogler said. Sharped asked how long it would be until Black Panther 3 happens, to which Coogler said, "Not long". In November, Washington casually told Australia's Today that Coogler was writing a part for him in Black Panther 3. Marvel has yet to officially unveil the sequel; in fact, the studio has only officially dated two Avengers sequels and Spider-Man 4 beyond 2025.
