Road ‘to be closed for longer than expected' due to water burst
A road in Darwen is set to be closed 'for longer than expected' due to a water burst.
It is understood that Lower Eccleshill Road was closed both ways yesterday evening, due to water main work from Hollins Grove Street to Chanters Way.
Earlier today (August 5) Blackburn with Darwen Roads said Lower Eccleshill Road will be closed 'for longer than expected' due to a water burst.
Unitied Utilities are said to be on scene.
As a result, the closure scheduled for Roman Road, where United Utilities is set to fix issue in carriageway, on August 8 will be rescheduled.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Roads said: 'Due to a further water burst, the closure on Lower Eccleshill Road will be in place for longer than expected, with United Utilities on site.
'In response to this, the closure scheduled for Roman Road on August 8 is being rescheduled, and will not be taking place this weekend.'
Unitied Utilities has been approached for comment.
