The Scandi bob is the most flattering haircut! 5 ways to style it, straight from Copenhagen Fashion Week
As far as 2025 goes, the bobs keep on coming and as bob-having, trend-watching beauty director, I have so enjoyed watching more people become cut converts and embrace the versatile style. While a choppy bob has snuck back into the trends and the shaggy bob sees more Pinterest saves, for me, a blunt bob is the chicest cut of them all. I cut a chin-grazing blunt bob back in September 2024 and I've never felt more confident. But as the story goes, my hair grew, and slowly the style morphed into a bit of a sad lob. So, you can only imagine how quickly I messaged my hairdresser for a brutal cut when I saw the bobs bobbin' up at Copenhagen Fashion Week. As I skimmed through the images, I noticed they all had the same thing in common; all the bobs spotted outside shows where blunt and mostly chin-grazing. While Scandi blonde highlights has been a key beauty trend that peaks every summer, the Scandi bob is a contender to stick around and transcend seasons. The key to the style is that it's cut blunt, but then styled into a natural texture, and never over manipulated. It's a style that leans into the Scandi style and vibe; it's functional, laidback but still incredibly cool and fashion-forward. The best part is that it increases how voluminous your hair looks, by keeping it mainly all one length. If you have thick hair or fine hair but lots of it (raises hand), it emphasises how full your hair is – so in my books it really does suit everybody. And pairing it with a fringe? Yes please. Styling-wise, keep products pared all the way back. To enhance texture on fine hair, scrunch in a little bit of texture or salt spray (we love the Hair by Sam McKnight Sundaze Sea Spray) in while your hair is damp and either let it air dry or lightly diffuse. If you have thicker hair a cream like the JVN Air Dry Cream or the Larry King A Social Life For Your Hair cream will do the trick. Poker straight hair? Just a bit of light finishing oil should do the trick to give hair a glossy shine. BTW, if you don't want to miss out on the latest beauty tea, make sure you're subscribed to Beauty Lab: Unlocked! How to remove fake tan: tips, advice, and best products to use
Nothing – well, very, very little – can ruin pre-holiday prep like a botched fake tan job. The rest of your base tan could be on point, but if your wrists and ankles are patchy AF, the vibe is off. So, what to do? Is there a way to salvage the rest of your tan, or do you strip it back and start again? Personally, I prefer the latter so I can really get it right – I don't want muddy-looking wrists while holding up my spicy marg in my Insta holiday round up, thank you very much. While I now have perfected my fake tan application – *bows* – thanks to an abundance of tips from tanning experts, I also have a good idea of the best ways to remove fake tan if needed, again thanks to tips from tanning experts over the years. Here, one of them, Jules von Hep, author of The Confidence Ritual, shares his easy tips... "You need the 4 S's – soak, sweat, scrub and swim," notes von Hep. Soak in bath water containing bath oils; this will soften the tan down and make it easier to remove Sweat it off – a tan that's been through a workout or sauna is more likely to come off faster than those that haven't Scrub it – I love using exfoliating gloves (or brush) to really work a body polish in and around the skin in upward circular motions. Swim – Chlorinated water is a magic ingredient for taking a tan off And for stubborn hair and feet, "try mixing lemon juice with a dishwasher tablet to remove stubborn thick tan," suggests von Hep, "Less is more, as a dishwasher tablet contains harsh chemicals, so go easy." Microblading aftercare tips: The worst things you can do during the healing phase
When it comes to in-clinic treatments we all know that there is always aftercare advice to follow, but let's be honest, we can slip up at times. We aren't perfect and sometimes a hot shower after trudging through the city post-appointment is inviting, am I right? Well, as tempting as it feels to toss away your aftercare leaflet, how well you look after your treated area when you leave your appointment is directly linked to how long your treatment lasts and, for skin-specific treatments, how quickly you heal. Summer's an especially tough time to get in-clinic treatments as there are a lot of potential hazards to avoid; with sweaty weather, sun exposure and potential pool dips all at play. Microblading is a treatment that aftercare is intrinsically linked to outcome so we spoke to expert Karen Betts, to reveal her top tips for maintaining perfect brows post-appointment, the worst thing you can do to freshly-microbladed brows and how to avoid aftercare regrets. "Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results from microblading," says Betts. The 7–10 days after treatment are the delicate 'healing phase', so here's her tips for getting through that initial phase... 'The most detrimental action is picking or scratching at the brows during the healing phase,' says Betts. 'This can remove pigment, cause patchiness, delay healing, and even risk scarring. Additionally, neglecting aftercare instructions, such as exposing the brows to excessive moisture or sun, can compromise the results.'
