Chris Paul gets 100% role about Spurs' role in prolonged NBA career

The post Chris Paul gets 100% role about Spurs' role in prolonged NBA career appeared first on ClutchPoints. The city of Los Angeles is excited about Chris Paul retiring to the Clippers. As he makes his transition from San Antonio back to LA, he takes time out to reflect on that journey. On Monday, Paul gave credit to the Spurs organization for enabling him to continue his career, per NBA Retweet. 'I just want to say thank you so much to first and foremost the Spurs…. without this past year in San Antonio, if that doesn't happen, I don't have this opportunity to actually come back here and play this year' Paul's welcome-home party took place at the Intuit Dome, where throngs of fans showed up and showered him with love. At the same time, Paul is hinting at playing more seasons. Paul helped put the Clippers on the map during his tenure from 2011 to 2017. Although they never made it to the NBA Finals, they still declared it 'Lob City.' This was due to the tandem of Paul and Blake Griffin, which enabled the Clippers to become playoff-worthy. Along the way, Paul became a five-time NBA all-star and the organization's all-time leader in assists (4,023) and steals (775). Now he makes his way back to a team that is still a venerable contender. But in San Antonio, Paul showed he still had the good stuff. Chris Paul and his sustainability with the Spurs For one year, Paul was productive with the Spurs. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. The Spurs finished the season with a record of 34-48 and didn't make the playoffs. Nevertheless, Paul, 40, demonstrated that he was still a capable player with strong skills. He is expected to do the same for his former team. A team in which he will join Bradley Beal, Brook Lopez, and John Collins. Furthermore, he is likely to finish out his career with a team. EA Sports drops college basketball bombshell

The post EA Sports drops college basketball bombshell appeared first on ClutchPoints. It appears an NCAA college basketball video game could be coming from EA Sports after bringing back College Football. EA Sports dropped the bombshell tease on Monday, June 30, 2025. They posted an image of a basketball with their logo on it, and the caption read, 'Bring the Madness. Let's run it back.' This is huge news for college basketball fans. It has been over a decade since the last college basketball video game came out from the game studio. When did EA Sports' last NCAA college basketball game come out? It has been nearly 16 years since the last NCAA Basketball game came out from EA Sports. NCAA Basketball 10 was released on November 17, 2009, before the series' hiatus. Blake Griffin was the cover athlete of the game. He retired in 2023 after playing in the NBA for over a decade. During his career, Griffin played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics. EA Sports then discontinued the game after the 2010 edition. It would go on the shelf for over a decade until now. EA appears to be bringing it back. The move should not come as a surprise to fans. EA recently brought back their college football series in 2024 with EA Sports College Football 25. It was the first college football video game to come out in 14 years. NCAA Football 14 was released in July 2013, and then the series was put on the shelf for a while. Luckily, the revival was a success for the studio. College Football 26 is set to be released on July 10, 2025. The series will likely continue to go on for as long as players buy the game. Fans will have to wait and see when EA Sports announces more details regarding their NCAA college basketball game. It will probably come out sooner rather than later. If they follow the release cycle of the last games, it could come out in November 2025. Chris Paul to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, team announces

12-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul will reunite with the Los Angeles Clippers for his 21st season, the team announced on Monday. Paul, 40, joins as a free agent after spending last season with the San Antonio Spurs. In 2024-2025, he became the first player in NBA history to play in all 82 games in a season while in his 20th year or later. Commonly regarded as one of the greatest point guards of all time, Paul played perhaps the prime of his career with the Clippers from 2011 to 2017. Teaming up with stars Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, the trio dubbed "Lob City" brought forth the most successful period in team history at that point. "Chris is one of the most impactful players ever to wear a Clippers uniform and it's appropriate that he returns to the team for this chapter of his career," said President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank. "He wants to be part of the group and we're fortunate to have him back." The Clippers still failed to reach the Western Conference Finals during those years, despite stellar regular seasons. Ultimately, Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2017, where he teamed up with guard James Harden to lead the team within one game of the NBA Finals in his first season. He later found success with the Phoenix Suns, where he reached the NBA Finals in 2021 before falling to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games. Paul has also had stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors since leaving the Clippers initially. The Wake Forest alum played his first six seasons with the New Orleans Hornets (now known as the Pelicans). Now, Paul will seek his first title with a roster full of name recognition in Inglewood. Paul joins his former teammate Harden alongside Kawhi Leonard, Ivica Zubac, Ben Simmons, and other new additions made this off-season in John Collins and Bradley Beal. With the additions made to an already strong roster, the Clippers could be poised to compete for a title, even while playing in the vicious Western Conference. Last year, L.A. took the Denver Nuggets to seven games in the first round of the playoffs, ultimately falling. The Nuggets went on to another seven-game series in the Western Conference Semi-Finals, where they lost to the Thunder, who eventually won the championship. Paul is likely to come off the bench with this lineup, which could be a boost for the 40-year-old. He averaged more than seven assists per game with the Spurs last season, indicating that he could still be productive even with a team light on scoring options. The Clippers have more players in that department between Harden, Leonard and Beal, meaning that Paul won't need to shoulder a load when it comes to getting a bucket.

Clippers and Chris Paul agree to deal as point guard prepares for 21st NBA season

The Clippers went from 'strongly, strongly considering' bringing Chris Paul back to the franchise to actually agreeing to a deal with the point guard on Monday, according to people familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly. Lawrence Frank, the Clippers' president of basketball operations, told the media Saturday in a Zoom that Paul 'obviously possesses some of the qualities we just referenced' and that led to the two sides agreeing to a veteran's minimum deal of about $3.6 million. Paul played joined the Clippers for the 2011-12 season and was with the team until 2017 as he teamed up with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan to form the core of the 'Lob City' teams. 'What I'd say about Chris is he's a great player,' Frank said during that Zoom meeting. 'He's a great Clipper.' Read more: Clippers continue to 'strongly' consider signing Chris Paul In what is likely his final season in the NBA, Paul will be entering his 21st campaign and will do so in Los Angeles, where his family lives. Paul, 40, played in all 82 games last season with the San Antonio Spurs. He averaged 28.0 minutes per game, 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and shot 42.7% from the field. Over the course of his career, Paul averaged 17.0 points, 9.2 assists and shot 47% from the field and 37% from three-point range. Paul, a 12-time NBA All-Star, was a teammate with James Harden during the 2017-18 season with the Houston Rockets. With the addition of Paul, the Clippers now have five veteran guards. They signed Bradley Beal to a two-year, $11-million deal and they also have Harden, Kris Dunn and Bogdan Bogdanonic. Adam Friedland on why comedians should focus on being funny, not becoming 'modern-day philosophers'

Comedian and talk show host Adam Friedland has been turning heads online with his unique version of talk television on "The Adam Friedland Show." There, he turns the heat up on his guests in hilarious fashion, never shying away from the sometimes uncomfortable questions on everyone's minds. Friedland sat down with Fox News Digital and broke down why he believes comedians shouldn't be looked at as "modern-day philosophers" as they sometimes are, and why taking yourself too seriously as a comedian may not be the right move if your focus in life is to make people laugh. The 38-year-old comedian hosts a weekly talk show where he interviews a wide range of guests — from politicians like California Rep. Ro Khanna and disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, to former NBA star Blake Griffin and the Nelk Boys' Aaron Steinberg. Regardless of who you are or what you do, one thing you can count on when you go on Friedland's show is that he will test your wit and ask you uncomfortable questions. For example, when interviewing Anthony Weiner, the comedian did not shy away from addressing the elephant in the room. "You haven't seen the documentary, right? About your run for, I mean, I imagine that would be like f-----g stressful as f--- for you to watch it," he asked, referencing the 2016 documentary "Weiner" that depicted the former congressman's disastrous 2013 bid for New York City mayor. Like his stint in Congress, his run was blown up by a sexting scandal that made him a national punchline. "I'll say this, as a person that just watched it, it's incredible," he told Weiner. Friedland's never-ending bits typically fly over the heads of the unsuspecting celebrities or politicians on the show, making for hilariously awkward interactions. Fox News Digital asked Friedland whether he believes guests like Weiner are aware that they are submitting to be put in uncomfortable positions like this before coming on his show. "Probably. Anthony Weiner is running for city council now so he's trying to relaunch a campaign. I think sometimes a lot of guests don't really know what to make of me, which is fun," he replied. "It makes a fun show." Since Friedland's interview with Fox, Weiner lost his city council bid. It is becoming more commonplace to see prominent politicians like President Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., making appearances on comedians' podcasts. The line between political media and comedy podcasts can sometimes seem blurry. While Friedland admits that he's always been interested in politics and occasionally hosts politicians on his show, he's upfront with the fact that his main objective is to "just do what's funny," and not take himself too seriously. "I guess comedy is having a good moment right now. I don't think it should be one or the other though. I think we should have the media. I do jokes on stage about Tinder and stuff. I don't think that makes me into Wolf Blitzer," he joked. The comedian noted that nowadays, comedians are sometimes "looked to as authorities in a way" in which they are not. "I try to kind of be mindful of that, I guess, when I'm doing my talk show." He joked, "Because I am kind of, effectively, I am an idiot." One of Friedland's favorite comics growing up, Norm Macdonald, had similar feelings about comedians being looked at as sage-like figures. "You know, Norm Macdonald had a quote once that said that people say comedians are like modern-day philosophers, and that's really insulting to modern-day philosophers. And I think I would probably agree with that," he concurred. Growing up, Friedland's favorite comedians were the type of people whose main objective was simply humor, and never aspired to be looked at as "modern-day philosophers." They also include comedy icons like Louis C.K., Kat Williams and Conan O'Brien, whom Friedland credits with inspiring the loose and "silly" atmosphere on his show.
