Camarillo farm raids: ICE agents hold one person at gunpoint, several US citizens detained
As dozens of ICE agents raided famous farms, including possibly the Glass House Farms, in Ventura County's Camarillo on Thursday, a volunteer told the Los Angeles Times that at least one person was held at gunpoint and several US citizens were detained. It's a giant factory, and a lot of people who live in the area have family who work here; that's why there is such a large presence out here right now.' According to Marie, at least one person was being held at gunpoint after they tried to take out their phone and record the raid. The ICE is yet to issue a statement about the situation in Camarillo. Meanwhile, NBC Los Angeles cited a video to report that a law enforcement SUV struck a street sign in an attempt to maneuver around a truck carrying a forklift near the farms. It's heart-wrenching," Raquel Sanchez, a volunteer with Rapid Response Network, told the publication. 'The whole perimeter is blocked off.' "(The federal agents) are targeting the hardest-working people," Sanchez added. '(Farmworkers) don't have the luxury to miss work. They are just gambling being deported on a daily basis.' According to the Ventura County Star, county fire spokesman Andrew Dowd said three patients were transported to hospitals at about 2 PM local time. The extent of the injuries has not been revealed yet. Fire crews were on the scene.

Have you seen Benjamin Song? State and federal agencies have issued a Blue Alert for a suspect who allegedly shot a Texas police officer during the attack of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility on July 4. Benjamin Hanil Song, 32, is wanted for his accused involvement in wounding an officer outside of the Prairieland ICE facility near Alvarado. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are collaborating on the search. Song is described as an Asian or Pacific Islander male with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'6" and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen outside the Alvarado ICE facility on the 1200 block of Sunflower Lane at 11 p.m. Friday, July 4. Law enforcement warns the public against approaching Song. Call 911 if you see the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Song and his whereabouts can contact the FBI at (800) 225-5324. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for tips leading to Song's arrest and conviction. Song has been charged with the attempted murder of a federal officer; and discharging a firearm during, in relation to, and in furtherance of a crime of violence, according to the FBI. A total of 12 people, including Song, have been charged with the July 4 attack. Blue Alerts in Texas are coordinated by the National Blue Alert Network, which aids in the searches for violent suspects accused of killing or seriously injuring a law enforcement officer in the line of duty. They can also be issued if "a suspect poses an imminent and credible threat to law enforcement, or when an officer is missing in the line of duty." The network currently operates in 37 states. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Blue Alert can only be issued if: • A law enforcement officer has been seriously hurt or killed. • Police believe the suspect is a serious threat to the public or other officers. • There is enough information about the suspect's vehicle, such as a description or license plate. • The agency handling the case recommends that the alert be sent out. The Blue Alert system started in 2008 under then-Governor Rick Perry. The FBI said that during the attack, an officer with the Alvarado Police Department was shot and injured. Song is believed to be armed and dangerous. On July 9, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Song in the Northern District of Texas. He's been charged with attempted murder of a federal officer and firing a gun during and in connection with a violent crime. LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. – Police officers in Lee's Summit are expressing gratitude and joy. Lee's Summit Police Ofc. Jared Timbrook is now recovering at home, five days after he was shot four times while responding to a domestic disturbance call. One gunshot was stopped by the officer's protective vest. Timbrook was , just 36 hours after being admitted. Lee's Summit Police Sgt. Chris Depue said Timbrook was determined to get out of bed and walk within a day of his surgery at Research Medical Center. Crews begin cleanup after tornado touches down in Independence 'We're going to be there every step of the way with him,' Depue said on Wednesday. While optimism rises at the police department, Timbrook likely has a long road to recovery ahead. Depue said Timbrook is expected to be out of work for six to eight weeks, and he'll likely perform light duty when he returns to work. 'He did tell me today that he's fighting pain.
