City's iconic Marina Beach gets a Blue Flag-worthy upgrade

Chennai: Families lounged on shell-shaped chairs, children played under bamboo umbrellas, and couples posed at heart-shaped selfie spots, enjoying the sea breeze and the new look of Chennai's iconic Marina on Sunday evening minutes after deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin unveiled revamped amenities aimed at turning Marina into a Blue Flag-certified beach. A water vending machine offers clean drinking water through the Chennai metropolitan water supply and sewerage board.
