Blue team wins SD High School Football All-Star game
BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The Blue team blanked the red team Saturday in the South Dakota Football Coaches Association All-Star Game at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium. The Blue team got a defensive score in the first quarter, building a 6-0 lead. Madden Timmer added a rushing touchdown in the second period, pushing the Blue team's lead to 12. Danish leads a successful Indian campaign at European US Kids Golf Champs
London: Danish Verma led a successful Indian campaign to the US Kids Golf European Championships this week. The Chandigarh lad, who has had a string of successes, won the Boys Under-13 title at the iconic Royal Musselburgh Golf Club in Scotland. Indians picked up one gold medal, two silver and one bronze medal and another top-10 place. Verma was one of numerous Indians to make it to the podium as Nihal Cheema finished runner-up in the Boys 8 years. Ahana Shah in the Girls 9 years was tied second, and Naaysha Sinha was third in the Girls 8 division and was also among the medallists. Most of the Indian medallists have finished on the podium in other events in the recent past. For both Danish and Nihal, their careers have been shaped by coach Jesse Grewal. Danish, who also won the US Kids Thailand Championships, has been consistent. He shot rounds of 70-72-69, and his final round 69 was bogey-free. The Longniddry olf Club proved a happy hunting ground. Ground for some of the other Indian youngsters. Nihal Cheema, with rounds of 35-38-34 and a total of 106, lost narrowly to Rinto Oake of Japan (35-35-35), who totalled 105 at Longniddry. Naaysha Sinha of Noida shot rounds of 41-35-41 in the three nine-hole rounds at Longniddry Golf Club, where Brianna Yang of Great Britain won the Girl 8 title.. In the Girls 9 section, Ahana Shah, who carded 37-37-39 in her three rounds, was the runner-up as Jay Kang of the US won at Longniddry. Danish was also picked for the Red Team for the European Van Horn team competition, and in his match, where he teamed up with Luke Lapone of the US, they tied their match with Zach Gammon of France and Caleb Pickett of the UK of the Blue Team. Overall, the Blue Team won the Van Horn Cup. In some of the other results, Vedaansh Jain was 18th in Boys 9, Drona Setlur was 12th in Boys 10, and Rajveer Suri was T27 in Boys 12. In Girls 13-14, Naina Kapoor 72-78-77 was seventh. The U.S. Kids Golf returned to East Lothian, Scotland's Golf Coast, for the 16th annual U.S. Kids Golf European Championship. More than 500 of the world's best young golfers, aged 5-18, travelled from more than 50 countries to compete in a premier junior golf tournament at the Home of Golf. The conditions were challenging with wind and rain amidst cold weather, and it was a truly Scottish weather experience for the young stars. Blue Origin Touches Down: Katy Perry, Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez Successfully Go to Space in All-Female Flight
Katy Perry, Gayle King and philanthropist and Jeff Bezos' fiancé Lauren Sánchez have officially made interstellar history. The three public figures along with three other female astronauts launched into space on Monday on a Blue Origin rocket. This mission marks the first all-female spaceflight since 1963 when Valentina Tereshkova of the former Soviet Union became the first woman to take a solo mission into space. The other members of the flight included former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn. Altogether, the flight lasted about 10 minutes and 30 seconds. The crew could be heard over the live stream cheering and reacting to seeing the moon. The live feed started to glitch around five minutes in with 305,000 viewers. Despite previously telling the press she would sing in space, Perry did not. 'I've never been more proud of my friend than today,' Oprah Winfrey said in an interview on Monday. Winfrey emphasized that her longtime friend, Gayle King, has struggled with flying for years. 'This is bigger than going to space … This is overcoming a wall of fear, a barrier.' Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and Blue Origin as well as Sánchez's fiancé, was the one to open the capsule and welcome the women back to Earth. Both Perry and King were seen kissing the Earth. As for Sánchez, her first words out of the capsule were 'Where are my babies?' Sánchez later said that what she experienced was indescribable but she tried, saying seeing Earth was 'quiet but very alive.' She also struggled to hold back tears as she recounted the 'feeling of joy' she experienced. 'I'm so proud of this crew. Gayle — we were just talking in the capsule — doesn't even have ear piercings. She's so afraid to do anything, and she got in that capsule. I think it profoundly changed her,' Sánchez said. 'I hope that more people get to see this because I don't even know how much it's going to change me. And I want to thank the Blue Team.' Dubai Electronic Security Centre to host School of Cyber Defense competition at GISEC 2025
3 Apr 2025 14:25 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) plans to host the School of Cyber Defense (CTF) competition for university students as part of its participation in the activities of the Gulf Information Security Exhibition and Conference (GISEC 2025) held at Dubai World Trade Centre from May 6-8 .Organised by TechFirm with the support of DESC, the competition aims to equip students with practical cybersecurity skills, enhance their ability to counter cyber threats, and expand their knowledge in network security, operating systems, and incident competition's qualifiers stage will take place online on May 6-7 followed by an in-person final on May 8 in Hall 8 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The top 50 students from the initial rounds will compete in a simulated real-world cybersecurity environment, tackling advanced challenges faced by industry professionals.
