Days of Our Lives June 18: The Secret Behind Bo and Hope's Adventurous Plan…and Why We Approve
If you clicked on Bo and Hope's iconic theme song, Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack's 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love' while watching the Wednesday, June 18 episode of Days of Our Lives, we wouldn't be mad. That's exactly what Bope did. Before saying goodbye to Salem (for now), the soap supercouple celebrated their love by renewing their vows, taking back Fancy Face, and setting sail for adventures unknown. But there was more. DAYS has been pulling out all the stops with their flashbacks. We got so many incredible glimpses of the past that honored the show's late, great hero, John Black. Earlier this week, the powers that be rolled out more for Stephen Nichols' 40th anniversary. Wednesday's episode was devoted to Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) as well as Tom and Alice, the patriarch and matriarch of the Horton family. The recreated flashbacks once again featured Young Tom (Zach Chyz) and Alice (Sydney Kathrann Smith), continuing to show how they carefully built and cultivated the Horton legacy. Even though the actors looked incredibly young, Tom and Alice celebrated becoming grandparents to Julie and Steve. However, Alice worried about becoming an empty nester and even pondered selling the Horton house. Thankfully, that didn't happen. READ THIS: Here's what's coming up next on DAYS. Hope still had a lot to tell Bo about what he missed while he was in a coma for two years. The biggest thing was the fire that burned so much of the house, but not the Christmas ornaments. Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) rebuilt and recreated it, and just like Tom and Alice intended, it is a place where the Horton family can stay whenever they want, for however long they want. Bo marveled at how the house looked the same. And he and Hope reflected on Christmases past, spent hanging their ornaments on the iconic Horton family tree. Bo saw the hanging of his ornament as having finally made it with Hope's family. READ THIS: A photo preview of the Thursday, June 19 DAYS episode. Bo was so grateful to be with his Fancy Face that he pulled out all the stops. He and Hope reminisced about their epic love story. Then, Bo managed to surprise Hope. Right there in the Horton living room with nothing but the two of them, some fancy clothes, and Addie's ring, the two renewed their vows. It's been 40 years since Bope's 1985 wedding. And the love between them is every bit as strong as it was back then. Here in 2025, they celebrated their love with emotional vows pledging to be together always and for the rest of the days of their lives. They told each other they never wanted to miss each other again. READ THIS: Cheers to 40 years: The DAYS cast honors Stephen Nichols' iconic run. Bo informed Hope that he had taken back the Fancy Face from Shawn (Brandon Beemer), and it is now theirs to set sail and find adventure. Hope also saw it as a way to visit Ciara (Victoria Konefal), Max and Chelsea, as well as Claire and Theo in South Africa. However, they also decided that Salem would once again be their home base, and they could basically do what Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Julie did. There was a time when Doug and Julie would spend time away from Salem going on magnificent trips and adventures together. And then then in between, they would come back to Salem and be with their family and friends and get caught up in Salem's drama. We're holding the show to this, especially since Bo and Hope decided to become partners with Steve (Stephen Nichols) in Black Patch. Salem needs its veteran characters, and so, let's hope (pun intended) that Bope returns to Salem soon. Here's Bo and Hope's theme song, to set the mood for today's episode:

Bo and Hope's Epic Love Story On Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives' Bo and Hope have a long and complicated history as a couple. Read on to find out the trials and tribulations the couple have faced. 1983: After spending months exchanging flirtatious glances and banter with Bo (Peter Reckell), Hope (Kristian Alfonso) finally invited him to accompany her to her 18th birthday celebration, and he agreed. The evening turned romantic as they shared a slow dance to 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You.' However, things took a turn when Hope brushed off Bo's heartfelt present—a vintage poetry book. Offended, Bo left in frustration. Ignoring Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Julie's (Susan Seaforth Hayes) objections, Hope went to Bo's apartment to smooth things over. The two reconciled with a kiss, and Bo confessed that he was in love with her. They came close to taking their relationship to the next level—until Hope's father walked in and brought the night to an abrupt end. 1984: In an effort to keep Hope safe while secretly working on the Salem Slasher investigation, Bo pretended to be romantically involved with his friend Diane (DeAnna Robbins). Feeling hurt and rejected, Hope turned to the shady Larry (Andrew Masset), eventually accepting his proposal. On the day of their wedding, Bo, unwilling to lose her, rushed to the ceremony and whisked Hope away, despite her initial resistance. The two rode off on his motorcycle, where Bo revealed the truth behind his actions. Once she understood, Hope let down her guard and embraced him. Bo and Hope's search for a missing prism led them to New Orleans, where their mission quickly turned into a romantic adventure. While staying at the historic Oak Alley plantation, the two found themselves alone and swept up in the charm of the setting. Dressed in vintage attire, they shared a magical evening dancing together. As the night deepened, Bo gently carried Hope upstairs, and it was there that they made love for the very first time. 1985 Bo and Hope were given a fairy tale wedding in England as a thank-you from British royalty after they helped capture the dangerous Dragon, who had been plotting to assassinate Lady Joanna (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Their loved ones traveled overseas to witness the joyous occasion, which nearly ended in tragedy when Emma (Jane Windsor) attempted to murder the couple after the ceremony. Thankfully, Shane intervened just in time, and the newlyweds were able to head off on their honeymoon as planned. 1987 After the heartbreak of a miscarriage, Bo and Hope were thrilled to welcome their son, Shawn Douglas. Bo stood faithfully by Hope's side during the delivery, guiding her through it—though he fainted almost immediately afterward from the emotional weight of it all. Soon after, Bo decided it was time to follow a dream he'd held for years. He bought a houseboat, and after saying goodbye to family and friends, he, Hope, and baby Shawn left Salem behind to sail around the world together. 1990 Three years after leaving Salem, Bo and Hope returned—only to find themselves caught up in another dangerous adventure at sea. They were among several people lured onto a ship called the Loretta by the villainous Ernesto (Eric Mason), who had a score to settle. The journey, later known as the Cruise of Deception, took a deadly turn when Hope, while searching for Bo in Ernesto's hideout, accidentally ended up in a trap. She became stuck in a cage hanging above a vat of acid. When the cage suddenly exploded, Bo was devastated, believing Hope had died, and was left to mourn the loss of his wife. 1994 Bo was stunned when he came face-to-face with a woman named 'Gina' at Maison Blanche—an amnesiac who looked exactly like his late wife, Hope. Having recently proposed to Billie (Lisa Rinna) and convinced that Stefano was behind some cruel trick, Bo refused to accept that Hope could still be alive. Eventually, medical tests confirmed that Gina was, in fact, Hope. Despite the truth, Bo followed through with his marriage to Billie. But it didn't take long for Billie to realize that Bo's heart still belonged to Hope, and she decided to leave town. Bo did everything he could to help her remember who she truly was, but Stefano's control remained strong. While under his influence, Hope ended up sleeping with both Stefano and a drugged John (the late Drake Hogestyn). By the time Bo was finally able to save her, Hope had become pregnant. READ THIS: Here's what's coming up on DAYS. 2000-2002 After overcoming numerous challenges—including the complicated truth that John was the biological father of their baby son, J.T.— Bo and Hope found their way back to each other. Their reunion was sealed with a heartfelt wedding on Christmas Eve, where they declared their love in front of family and friends, promising that nothing would ever come between them again. J.T.'s diagnosis of fetal alcohol syndrome eventually uncovered a startling secret: he was not biologically the child of either Hope or John. It was revealed that Stefano had orchestrated a baby swap—Abe (James Reynolds) and Lexie (Renee Jones) were actually raising Hope's biological daughter, while Bo and Hope had been caring for the child of the late Marlo (Marcy Kaplan) and Glen Reiber (Paul Logan). Despite fighting hard in court, Bo and Hope ultimately lost custody of J.T. and had to give him up to his biological father. With heavy hearts, Bo, Hope, and Shawn said a painful farewell to the little boy they had cared for since he was born. Thankfully, Glen and his wife Barb (Tamara Clatterbuck) assured them that the Brady family would always remain a part of J.T.'s life. After Abe gave up custody of Isaac to Bo and Hope, the couple renamed the boy Zack and began their new life together. However, Hope started experiencing sudden memories that made her suspect Bo might actually be Zack's biological father. DNA testing confirmed her suspicions. It turned out that while both were under Stefano's control, Bo and Hope had conceived a son—an event neither of them remembered at the time. 2004 Bo and Hope reconnect on the mysterious island of Melaswen, where they were reunited. Afterwards, the couple navigated high tensions, including Bo's jealousy of Patrick (Brody Hutzler) and a case of mistaken identity. Ultimately, Patrick's manipulative actions led to Bo and Hope's separation and Hope's belief that Patrick was the father of her baby. READ THIS: Kristian Alfonso's final DAYS moments with Drake Hogestyn. 2006: Bo's daughter Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) tragically causes Zack's death in a car accident. In 2008, Chelsea donates part of her pancreas to save Bo. That same year, Bo and Hope renew their vows 2010: Difficulties arise—Hope is arrested and Bo briefly romances Carly (Crystal Chappell) but eventually realizes his lasting love for Hope . 2012: Bo leaves Salem with his mother Caroline (Peggy McCay) to seek treatment. Hope files for divorce in 2014 after hearing nothing from him. 2015: Bo reappears just in time to rescue Hope from Aiden Jennings (Daniel Cosgrove), who tries to kill her at their wedding. Soon after, Bo is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. On November 20, 2015, he dies in Hope's arms in their meeting park, as snow begins to fall. 2016: Bo appears as a vision or in Hope's dreams, guiding her after life-altering events. 2022 (on Beyond Salem) In a beautifully staged sequence, Hope appears to die momentarily and meets Bo in heaven. They dance, share intimate reflections on their life together, and decide she should return to Earth with a 'second-chance' pass. In the finale, it's revealed that Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) kept Bo cryogenically frozen and used magical prisms to cure his brain tumor and resurrect him. The series ends with Bo's dramatic awakening—eyes opening in a laboratory setting. 2023 During a tense and dramatic confrontation, Bo threatened Hope with a gun. In an attempt to protect his mother, their son Shawn (Brandon Beemer) accidentally shot Bo. As a result, Bo fell into a coma, and Hope took on the difficult role of caring for him at a specialized clinic. 2025 The couple are back with Bo still lingering in a coma. As Bo, comatose begins deteriorating due to sepsis, Dr. Russell (Michael Dietz) is experimenting with a new drug not yet approved for humans. Shawn and Steve (Stephen Nichols) attempt to procure the drug—potentially stealing it—to save him. John procured it after the lab exploded, but that left him critically injured and he died. Bo received the antidote and awakens from his coma. What do you think will happen next with Bo and Hope? Sound off in the comments.

Bo and Hope's Reunion Was the Ultimate Love Letter to DAYS Fans
Bo Brady's miraculous salvation from the brink of death and reunion with his soulmate, Hope, was the ultimate love letter to Days of our Lives fans. Absolutely no stone was left unturned during the short, but sweet story arc that gave the Salem supercouple and their devoted fan base the happy ending they rightly deserved. It had been two long years since viewers witnessed Shawn (Brandon Beemer) shoot Bo (Peter Reckell) on a mountaintop in Greece, fearing his father was about to kill his mother, Hope (Kristian Alfonso). Left lingering in a coma since that fateful day, all viewers could do was pray that one day Bo would wake up. Sadly, things got worse before they got better when Bo contracted sepsis and was near death. A heartbroken Hope sat at Bo's bedside, where she was joined by her daughter, Ciara (Victoria Konefal). It was the first step in a series of beautiful moments, including Konefal sharing her first scenes with Reckell, praying for her TV dad to wake up, and reflecting on their past as father and daughter. MORE: Here's the secret behind Bo and Hope's adventure. Back in Salem, Steve (Stephen Nichols), Shawn, and John broke into a lab, where they were joined by Hope, to steal a wonder drug that could possibly save Bo. The drug was retrieved by John, who ended up seriously burned when the lab suddenly blew up. While John was rushed to the hospital, Hope and Shawn headed to Greece with the drug. WATCH THIS: Did you know Soap Hub has a podcast?! Check it out here! Shortly after the drug was administered to Bo, he regained consciousness. And in another perfect moment, the first person he saw when he opened his eyes was his beloved Fancy Face. The show's writers continued to give viewers everything they'd been waiting to see for two years. Hope and Bo reunited, Ciara expressed her love to her dad, and Shawn apologized for shooting his father. Beautiful family moments followed—some sad, some happy. Hope, Shawn, and Ciara had to break the news that Victor and Doug had died, but then Bo got to meet his new grandchildren: Ciara's son and his namesake, Bo, and daughter, Addie. Sadly, while Bo's family was celebrating a life saved in Greece, John's family was grieving his death back in Salem. It was a beautiful juxtaposition of life and death, triumph and tragedy. And it allowed John, who had been played by the late Drake Hogestyn, to go out a hero exactly as he deserved. Having Bo and Hope return to Salem for the end of John's funeral, so they could pay their respects and Bo could express his sorrow and thanks to Marlena (Deidre Hall) for John's sacrifice, was a perfect moment of closure. Back in Salem, Bo and Hope reunited with family and reconnected with each other, sharing breakfast in bed and cuddles on the sofa as they reminisced about their long-storied romance. Flashbacks of Reckell and Alfonso through the decades added to the beautiful trip down memory lane. Finally, Bo proposed to Hope, and they remarried in a private ceremony for two, before making plans to sail off into the sunset together, literally, just as they had decades ago. Before leaving town, the couple took a stroll in the Horton Square and said goodbye to Salem… for now. And this time, it was an exit fans could actually be happy about.
