Outdoor theatre tour of Shakespearean classic to visit ten Somerset locations

The Taunton Thespians are preparing for their 2025 outdoor tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The group will perform the Shakespearean classic at ten Somerset venues from Tuesday, July 15 to Saturday, July 26. Director Bob Corwin said: "The course of true love never did run smooth. "This will be a big cast production with lots of energy, colour, and music to entertain young and old as we meet lovers who want, lovers who don't want, interfering parents, jealous fairies, mischievous meddlers and bumbling yokels. "It's going to be fun just as The Bard intended." Their summer tour begins on Tuesday, July 15 at Milligan in Netherclay, Bishops Hull. The next day, they will perform at Brympton House in Yeovil. The following performances will take place at North Curry Sports Field on Thursday, July 17, Muchelney Abbey on Friday, July 18, and The Grange in Street on Saturday, July 19. The tour will continue after a brief break with a performance at the Museum of Somerset in Taunton on Tuesday, July 22. The group will then travel to Blackmore Farm in Cannington, Bridgwater, for their performance on Wednesday, July 23. They will then perform at Compton House Hotel in Axbridge on Thursday, July 24, Cleeve Abbey in Washford on Friday, July 25, and Hartwood House in Crowcombe Heathfield on Saturday, July 26. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic rugs due to the performances being outdoors. Each venue will be open for picnics from 6.30pm, with the performances set to start at 7.30pm.
