Harbor Creek high school to host 2025 Save-An-Eye football game in late June
The Erie Lion's Club, which puts on Erie's annual Save-An-Eye all-star high school football game, has announced that Harbor Creek high school will host this Summer's game.
The game, which has already been set for Friday, June 27th at 7 pm, which has traditionally taken place at Erie's Veterans Memorial Stadium, will be played at Paul J. Weitz Stadium this time around.
The second longest running annual all-star game will see its 87th edition take place this Summer.
'Obviously, Veterans Stadium has a history and tradition unmatched by most facilities,' said Lions Club president Bob Sensor via a release. 'We also have great facilities around Erie County and it's time to showcase those facilities.'
The Lions Club put out a Request For Proposal to host this year's game to most schools with turf fields. According to the release, there were some facilities that were unavailable this year due to construction projects.
'Harbor Creek has a superb facility that is easily accessible for all fans and has plenty of parking as well,' Sensor said. 'The club will evaluate where to play the game each year based on showing off the best facilities in Erie.'
Game officials also said there will be food trucks on site at the game.
