Initially, Yash Chopra approached Sridevi for the infamous Kiran's role, however, she wanted some changes in the script, which couldn't materialise. Then, Madhuri Dixit was offered this film, but she couldn't resonate with the script, and later the offer when to Aishwarya Rai, but she was busy preparing for the Miss World competition. Later, Divya Bharti also declined the offer. Eventually, the offer went to Juhi Chawla, who ultimately signed the role. Similarly, for Sunil's role, Yash Chopra's initial choices were Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jackie Shroff, who refused the offer. Then, finally, Sunny Deol was signed for this film. Yash Chopra wanted Sanjay to play Shah Rukh Khan's villain role, but during that time, he was going through the controversy of possessing illegal weapons after the Bombay Blasts. After this, Ajay Devgan was offered this role, but he refused, and finally Shah Rukh Khan was signed for this role. After many rejections and challenges, Shah Rukh's blockbuster film became the highest-grossing film of the year. Rajkummar Rao set to replace Aamir Khan in Ujjwal Nikam biopic: Report

Actor Rajkummar Rao is in discussion to replace Aamir Khan in the upcoming biopic based on the life of Ujjwal Nikam, one of India's most well-known public prosecutors. Aamir was earlier in talks to play the man himself but now, he will be co-producing the film alongside 'Munjya' and 'Stree' producer, Dinesh Vijan.A source close to the actor told Mid-Day, 'Dinesh is keen on having Rajkummar play Nikam. He brings the right intensity and range to the role. Preliminary talks have been positive.'advertisementThe filming of Ujjwal Nikam's biopic is set to begin soon, although no date has been disclosed yet. The film's team is reworking the script to suit Rajkummar's style. The tone of the film will now be more grounded and realistic, with a focus on courtroom drama and political undertones. Rajkummar is currently working on a Vikramaditya Motwane project, in which he will be playing a sportsman. The source also stated, 'Raj is immersed in prep for Vikramaditya Motwane's next, which is a physically and emotionally demanding script since he plays a sportsman.
