Intermediate hurling preview: Aughrim look best-placed to jump to senior

The Boom and Platform Hire Intermediate Hurling Championship is set to get underway this weekend, and the teams involved can, justifiably, look at this as a fairly unique opportunity.
The format has changed, with the competition being split into two groups of four teams. The teams involved won't have to deal with champions Avondale in 2025 due to their promotion to Senior ranks. But, more importantly, because no relegation applied in last year's Senior Championship, Avondale have not been replaced by a team who played at the premier grade in 2024.
