A12 in Essex closed northbound after car fire near Danbury
A section of the A12 in Essex has been closed following a car fire which resulted in a diesel Highways said on X that northbound traffic between junction 18 at Danbury and junction 19 at the Boreham Interchange had been halted and the section closed. Essex County Fire & Rescue Service has been at the have been advised there were delays of at least 30 minutes, with 30 minute delays on the southbound carriageway due to a separate incident, with diversions put in place.
Video footage seen by the BBC shows debris on fire at intervals along the hard shoulder.
