Formal charges have not yet been filed, but the police department said it recommended charges for vehicular homicide and vehicular assault, on top of multiple traffic infractions.
The recommended charges stem from the deadly crash that happened on Dec. 23 near the intersection of West 44th Avenue and Kipling Street.
According to police, crash investigators used witness statements and surveillance video and determined that the suspect vehicle, a black Toyota Tundra, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Kipling Street when it rear-ended a red Ram 1500 that was stopped at the light waiting to turn left onto W. 44th Avenue.

The driver of the Ram was pronounced dead on the scene, and a passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The police department said surveillance video showed the suspect vehicle driving 'erratically and recklessly,' maneuvering around multiple cars along Kipling Street as far back as West 38th Avenue and running a red light at West 40th Avenue.

Charges have not been formally filed, but police recommended the following to the District Attorney:

Reckless driving
Failing to drive in a single lane

Speeding
Police said Bormolini was given a $75,000 cash-only bond.
