Charlie Brooks to star in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Pavilion

FORMER Eastenders star Charlie Brooks will reprise her role as the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre. The news comes after the passing of The Vivienne, who previously shared the role with Ms Brooks. The Vivienne's portrayal of the Child Catcher was noted for its talent and contribution to the production. Ms Brooks is known for her extensive work in television and theatre, including her role as Janine in EastEnders. She is currently starring in Dancing on Ice. The play is part of a UK tour. The production also stars Ore Oduba as Caractacus Potts, Emmerdale's Liam Fox as Grandpa Potts, Ellie Nunn as Truly Scrumptious, Martin Callaghan as the Baron, Jenny Gayner as the Baroness, Adam Stafford as Boris, Michael Joseph as Goran and John Macaulay as the Toymaker. Ore Oduba, a previous Strictly Come Dancing champion, was recently seen in the UK and Ireland tour of Pretty Woman. Liam Fox, known for his role as Dan Spencer in Emmerdale, has been in more than 1,000 episodes of the show. Ellie Nunn has a long list of theatre credits, including Identical at Nottingham Playhouse and the UK tour of Posh. Based on Ian Fleming's timeless story for children, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers, including Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain and the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The new production is directed by Thom Southerland, choreographed by Karen Bruce, with set and costume design by Morgan Large. In the story, absent-minded inventor Caractacus Potts restores an old racing car with the help of his children, Jemima and Jeremy. The family discovers the car has magical powers, leading them on a fantastical adventure to far-off lands. The production is presented by permission of Music Theatre International.
