7 swimwear trends you'll see everywhere this summer, from flattering one-pieces to printed bikinis

We've made it – swim season is upon us! Whether it's your next trip to the waters of Devon or a sweltering beach trip in Crete (jealous? Us?), it's time to start planning out the best bikinis and one-pieces to see you through the summer. From neutral monochrome palettes to 3D rosettes, we have the perfect roundup of swimwear trends that are bound to make a statement for your next swim adventure... Nothing says summer holiday quite like colourful florals. This season, we're seeing them through fun prints and hyper-realistic, three-dimensional corsage details. Regardless of whether you lean towards subtlty or go all out, florals are bound to make a poolside impression. A true ride or die in your swimwear arsenal, IMO. With its well-rounded versatility, it has earned its place in our suitcase. 'This is a trend that we are already seeing going viral,' reports Zoe Price-Smith, Chief Design & Product Officer at Boux Avenue. 'Our Rivioli Swimsuit in black has already almost sold out!' Luckily, you can still get your hands on the white colourway. The epitome of summer, crochet brings that '70s Cali cool regardless of where you are. To buy into its handcrafted charm, turn to established faves like Free People along with dedicated swimwear brands like Frankies Bikinis and Triangl. There's no such thing as overboard with this trend, so we'll be coordinating with crochet sandals for good measure. Think gingham and stripes are strictly for the park? Think again. With brands like Hunza G debuting their first gingham collection, or Triangl's new season stripes, we would be remiss not to put them on your radar. Gradients are a stand-out this season (and I must admit, a personal fave). From ocean blues to sunset tones, they are the best way to revel in summer brights. Our obsession with boho has made its way to our swimwear. Heavy-hitting hardware like grommets and studs, earthy stoneware and delicate charms add a jewellery-like finish to our wardrobes that we love. Possibly the most 'no-fuss' texture on the market, the demand for crinkle knows no bounds. Especially great for curvy silhouettes – the stretch fabric is comfy while looking super luxe. Obvs, Hunza G are the OGs in the game, but the high street has come through with plenty of affordable designs in the beloved crinkle style. Follow Angel on Instagram. Boux Avenue have baffled customers with their new bum-less pants that ‘show everything' and will still give you a VPL

A WOMAN shopping for a new pair of pants was left baffled by a bizarre 'bumless' style, featuring a large hole over the bottom. Charmaine Hargreaves was browsing Boux Avenue looking for fresh underwear, when she noticed the strange look. The 'Brianna lace bumpless briefs' were on sale for just £3, down from £9, but they have significantly less material than you might expect. Featuring a lace design, they appear to be standard briefs from the front – but at the back, there is a large oval slit over the bum. Charmaine shared the find on Facebook, writing, 'Being a Yorkshire woman, I like a good bargain. 'Being an Equestrian, it's very rare I buy anything for myself. 'My horses cost as much as another mortgage and get everything they need and more, while I wear the same clothes day in, day out until they fall apart. 'Now it's not often I talk about my undergarments to anyone…But I thought to myself, it's about time I treat myself to a few new pairs, as mine are quite literally falling to pieces. 'I went on a popular website to see if I could find a bargain under the 'sale' section. 'I came across these at £3 a pair and thought that seemed reasonable. 'I was a little confused as to the meaning of 'bumless briefs' and thought I best check this out before I make any sudden decisions. 'All I can say is this is… interesting. Primark drops brand new collection of bikinis in gingham, floral and colour block designs - and they'll set you back just £2.50 per piece 'For what reason would someone want their butt crack on a show? 'Is it sexy? Is it to make it easier to use the toilet? 'Thought I was young, but maybe being put off by this attire is showing my age.' Her extravagant catwalks have featured women of all ethnicities and sizes, including pregnant model Slick Woods. Her sexy designs go up to 46E for bras and 5XL (size 24) for briefs. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Marks & Spencer Thirty-five-year-old Rosie's line is one of the longest-running and most popular ranges – one of her products sells every 30 seconds. Her inclusive styles go up to 44H for the top and size 28 below. Abbey Clancy for Victoria's Secret Model Abbey, 36, has created an edit with Victoria's Secret and styles range from silky pyjamas to lacy lingerie. Sizes reach 40F for bras, XL (size 18) for briefs. Oti Mabuse for Bravissimo BRAVISSIMO is a go-to for a specialist touch and a really secure fit – and 32-year-old dancer Oti's collection is no exception. With rich colours and practical but stylish designs, they're a win. Sizing goes up to a 38J and 2XL (sizes 18-20) for the briefs. The post garnered more than 4,000 likes, reports What's The Jam. One person commented: 'What's the point'? 'I wonder what they do with the tiny piece of material left…behind!?!?' another user wondered. Someone else joked: 'Maybe for female plumbers to make them look like their male counterparts when working.' 'Surely you'd still have to remove them when using the toilet? It's almost impossible not to wee at the same time as a poo isn't it?' questioned one viewer. Another joked: 'It's like a slot machine.' While this particular style appears to have since sold out, Boux Avenue has nearly a dozen similar styles currently for sale, featuring the same hole around the bottom.

'These pastel underwear sets made me feel sexy after a breakup'

Nothing says 'new chapter' like a new lacy bra and knickers from a female-founded brand Breakups are never easy - but this time around, I decided to flip the narrative. Instead of wallowing, I saw mine as a new lease on life. I was excited to rediscover my independence, lean into the confidence I'd let slip, and most importantly, feel sexy for myself again. And if there's one sure fire way to do that, a brand new matching underwear set is top of my list. There's just something about slipping into a fresh bralette and knickers that makes me want to strut down the street with a girl power playlist blasting in my headphones. So, in the spirit of self-love, I picked up two new £40 sets from Lemonade Dolls - a female-founded bound all about empowering women through lingerie that's as comfy as it is confidence-boosting. The pieces are designed for real bodies, with sizes and style to suit everyone - including fuller busts. I opted for two sets from the brand's dreamy new spring collection: a lace bralette and Brazilian pants in soft green and blue, and another identical set in butter yellow and pink. As a pastel lover, these were made for me - but they've also pushed me out of usual comfort zone (goodbye, M&S neutrals). Get the look £46 £40 Lemonade Dolls Buy Now on Lemonade Dolls Product Description When they arrived, I admit, I was a little hesitant at first. The bralette is non-wired and I worried it wouldn't give me much shape or support - especially as a 34C. But the fit surprised me; it offered just enough of a boost to give me cleavage, while still feeling comfortable and perky. Plus, it didn't come with the digging or pinching that sometimes comes with underwire bras. If underwired bra is preffered, though, Boux Avenue has lots of cute designs. This floral sheer bra, for instance, has wired support and is a gorgeous pick for spring. Bluebella is also a great choice for underwear, with a wide range of colours and designs available. I love this wired bra with a soft purple hue - although some sizes are already sold out. The Lemonade Dolls knickers were a dream too - comfy, well-made and super soft. The lace didn't itch or feel scratchy - instead, it felt smooth against my skin and like something I could wear all day without a second thought. The colourways are also worth a mention. The mix of hues in each set is so pretty and mood-lifting, it instantly made me feel like spring had arrived. But more than they looked or felt, what really stood out was how they made me feel. I wore one of the sets under a short skirt, boots and a baggy T-shirt for a night out, with my hair and makeup done - and even though no one could see what was underneath, it gave me the biggest confidence boost. So, for those navigating a breakup - a good lingerie set goes a long way. The new spring collection from Lemonade Dolls is available to shop here.
