West Coast Eagles star Brad Sheppard and his wife Ellen share baby news: 'The most exciting chapter yet'
Former West Coast Eagles player Brad Sheppard and his wife Ellen are expecting their first child. The retired AFL player, 33, shared the exciting news to social media for Mothers Day on Sunday. He posted a precious picture of him and Ellen posing up a storm together at the beach at sunset, as he held onto their sonogram photo. Brad was all smiles as he posed next to his beautiful wife and cradled her growing stomach, while she showcased her baby bump in a figure-hugging yellow dress. He captioned the post with some heartfelt words: 'The most exciting chapter yet'. Many of Brad's footy friends took to the comment section to congratulate him on the amazing news. 'Congratulations, you'll be the best parent,' gushed West Coast Eagles star Nic Naitanui's fiancée Brittany Bown. 'So excited for you both,' added Eagles midfielder Elliot Yeo's partner Tess Goodbody. In July last year, Brad and his nutritionist partner got married in a stunning Western Australian ceremony. The pair announced the happy news to Instagram alongside images of the glamorous occasion. Overjoyed by their union, the new bride captioned her reel of glowing snaps with: 'The best day of our lives 27.7.24.' The lovebirds shared their nuptials in front of friends and family as they overlooked the sea at picturesque Gnarangannie in Broome where they live. Ellen stole the show in a stunning strapless gown from Pallas Couture which featured a daring leg slit which highlighted her timeless strappy heels. She posed up a storm with her handsome husband, who rocked a classic tuxedo, as they snapped some loved up photos in front of the sunset. Several videos and photos of the reception showed the pair then partying up a storm with all their loved ones. Guests took to a huge outdoor dance floor where they hoisted the bride and groom onto their shoulders to dance. Ellen and Brad got engaged in May 2023 when the former footy player got down on one knee at a beach. They started dating in July 2020 when Brad moved on with Ellen following his split from Scherri-Lee Biggs. The Eagles player found love with the brunette after breaking up with the Channel Nine weather presenter in December 2019. Brad hinted he was in a new relationship at the time by tagging Ellen in a romantic Instagram story. He shared a picture of homemade cupcakes with icing that spelled out the words 'welcome home'. Ellen appeared to have surprised Brad after his return to Perth from the Gold Coast, where the Eagles beat Adelaide Football Club that year.
