Watch: Braden Fiske looks explosive in workouts after having offseason knee surgery

Watch: Braden Fiske looks explosive in workouts after having offseason knee surgery The Los Angeles Rams had to face the Philadelphia Eagles without Braden Fiske for most of the game in the divisional round after he suffered a knee injury in the first quarter. It was a tough loss for the Rams, who nearly beat the eventual champions to advance to the NFC title game. It's unclear exactly what the injury was but it was severe enough to require a minor procedure this offseason. There were no concerns about his availability for the 2025 season and based on a video shared by the Rams, he appears to be right on track. Fiske shared an update in this behind-the-scenes video, saying he's in a 'really good spot' mentally. He sure looks every bit as explosive as he was pre-injury, too. 'Mentally, I'm in a really good spot,' Fiske said. 'I think early on in the offseason, it's easy to dread on everything that's going on. It's easier to make excuses instead of solutions. It's hard to feel like a football player when all you do is small movements. You're just in there constantly doing the same thing but your body's your temple in this game and I'm constantly just trying to improve my craft and get my body feeling good.' Fiske is an integral part of the Rams' defense, providing an immediate impact as a rookie last season. He led the team with 8.5 sacks and also had 10 quarterback hits to go along with 44 total tackles, playing all 17 games and making eight starts. He should continue to get better as he becomes even more comfortable in the NFL, so the sky's the limit for him entering Year 2.

Los Angeles Rams NFL Draft 2025 pick tracker: Grades, fits and scouting reports

The Los Angeles Rams enter the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24 with eight picks over the three-day draft. A year ago, the Rams picked up college teammates Jared Verse and Braden Fiske in Rounds 1 and 2 to bolster the defensive line. Verse was the Defensive Rookie of the Year and Fiske was third in voting. Not bad. GM Les Snead and Sean McVay would love finding difference-makers like that again in this draft. L.A. added Davante Adams this offseason and lost Cooper Kupp, and strengthening the receiver room could be the choice in Round 1 — or Round 2 if they trade back from the 26th spot. An offensive tackle, cornerback and linebacker are also on the Rams' want list. Keep coming back here throughout the draft for grades and analysis of each Rams pick. No. 26 Pick 90 Pick 101 Pick 127 (special compensatory) Pick 190 (from Falcons) Pick 195 (from Steelers) Pick 201 Pick 202 (from Texans via Steelers and Bears)

4 potential trade-up ideas for the Rams in Round 1 of the draft

4 potential trade-up ideas for the Rams in Round 1 of the draft The Los Angeles Rams never seem satisfied with their positioning on draft night, often looking to move either up or down the board. It wouldn't be the least bit surprising to see them move off the No. 26 pick on Thursday night, either to move up for a player they covet or to trade down the board and acquire more picks. In this exercise, we're exploring scenarios where the Rams trade up. The Athletic reported on Wednesday that the Rams are expected to target a tight end in Round 1, potentially even attempting to trade up for one. Here are four trade-up scenarios for Los Angeles based on the trade value chart. Trade up to No. 13 Rams trade: No. 26 + 2026 2nd-rounder (223 points + TBD) No. 26 + 2026 2nd-rounder (223 points + TBD) Dolphins trade: No. 13 (336 points) If the Rams really want a tight end, they'll probably have to get in front of the Colts at No. 14. By moving up to No. 13, they'll almost certainly have to give up a 2026 second-round pick to make it happen, similar to when they moved up for Braden Fiske in Round 2 last year. A 13-spot jump is significant and the point difference between the Dolphins' and Rams' picks is 113 points, which is about what a mid-second-rounder is worth. Even if the Rams traded their two third-rounders, the total of those two picks is only 79 points, so it wouldn't be enough for the Dolphins. This deal might just land the Rams Colston Loveland, though. Trade up to No. 19 Rams trade: No. 26 + 90 + 190 (274 points) No. 26 + 90 + 190 (274 points) Buccaneers trade: No. 19 (278 points) The Broncos could be looking for a wide receiver at No. 20 and if someone such as Tet McMillan or Matthew Golden somehow falls to No. 19, the Rams might be aggressive and try to trade up. This deal would require the Rams to give up a third- and sixth-rounder in addition to No. 26 overall, but that's a price they'd gladly pay for a player they love. Trade up to No. 21 Rams trade: No. 26 + 101 (257 points) No. 26 + 101 (257 points) Steelers trade: No. 21 (261 points) If there isn't a quarterback on the board that the Steelers like, they could look to move down. The Rams could jump in and offer a third-rounder to make the swap happen, going up five spots to get someone they're targeting. The Packers (23) and Texans (25) could be looking for a wide receiver so the Rams might feel they need to get in front of them to secure the wideout they want. Trade up to No. 24 Rams trade: No. 26 + 127 (243 points) No. 26 + 127 (243 points) Vikings trade: No. 24 + 187 (243 points) The idea here is that the Vikings have just four total picks, so they could really be looking to move down. This trade doesn't net them an extra selection, but it does move them up 60 spots on Day 3 for simply moving down two spots in Round 1. Again, with the Texans looking at wide receivers, the Rams could jump them to get their guy. Trade value chart (Rich Hill Model) Follow Rams Wire on X,Facebook and now Threads for more coverage!

Where does the Rams' 2025 NFL Draft value rank among teams?

Where does the Rams' 2025 NFL Draft value rank among teams? The Los Angeles Rams have eight total picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, half of which are in the sixth round. So while the Rams have a lot of draft picks — including a first-rounder again — L.A. doesn't have a ton of premium picks after winning the NFC West, going to the NFC Divisional Round and trading their 2025 second-rounder to move up and select Braden Fiske in 2024. That decision worked out well for them, though, and the Rams are going all-in on this season after a slew of moves in free agency. CBS' Sports Josh Edwards ranked the 32 NFL teams by their total draft value (per a chart from Sportsline's R.J. White). Unsurprisingly, the Rams finished No. 30 with 297.71 points. "Los Angeles has its first round pick for the second consecutive year, but it is later in the round and the next selection is not until No. 90 overall," Edwards wrote. "Few, if any, teams have been as good as the Rams finding contributors on Days 2 and 3 of the draft. They will have to continue that trend this year as they continue to build around Matthew Stafford." Again, the lack of draft capital isn't concerning for a team that is loaded at major positions. Plus, as Edwards alluded to, the Rams front office has excelled at late-round picks. Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Kobie Turner and Byron Young were all drafted in the third round or later. Starting left tackle Alaric Jackson went undrafted and starting center Beaux Limmer was a sixth-rounder. The Rams have some big needs on defense but have the scouting department to find diamonds in the rough at any point in the draft. They'll need to exercise that skill, though, with such limited draft value outside of the first round.

Rams DL Braden Fiske names one area where he wants to improve in 2nd NFL season

Rams DL Braden Fiske names one area where he wants to improve in 2nd NFL season After the Los Angeles Rams traded up for Braden Fiske in Round 2 of last year's draft, there were questions about whether they overpaid by giving up a second-rounder in 2025. It didn't take long for Fiske to prove he was well worth the high cost, quickly becoming one of the best young defensive linemen in the NFL. He finished his rookie season with 44 tackles, a team-high 8.5 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss, stuffing the stat sheet in his first year in the NFL. Jared Verse wound up winning Defensive Rookie of the Year but Fiske finished third in the voting, so he had the attention of analysts. What's most exciting about Fiske is he's only 25 years old with plenty of room to grow. Looking ahead to his second season, there's one area where he wants to improve in 2025. "I want to be better in the run game," Fiske told DJ Siddiqi of Forbes. "I think that was the place -- I don't want to say necessarily struggle -- but the run game wasn't as good as my pass rush game. I want to balance that out more, I want to be more of a presence on the field and become more of a true three-down guy on the field. I think that will really elevate my game going forward and really put me in a separate category if I can really emphasize that." According to Pro Football Focus, Fiske finished the 2024 season with a 57.5 overall grade but his run defense grade of 38.8 was among the worst at his position. Every player in the NFL can stand to improve in some area and Fiske is aware he needs to get better stopping the run. That was a major weakness of the defense as a whole last season so if he can improve alongside Kobie Turner and Poona Ford, it'll help the entire unit next season.
