Former Texas A&M lefty promoted to Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate

The big-league news continues for the Texas A&M baseball program, as a former Aggie arm was promoted to the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate on Tuesday afternoon. After he posted a 1.00 ERA and 15 strikeouts across 9.0 relief innings for the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, left-hander Brandyn Garcia got the call from the franchise to pack his bags and join the Tacoma Rainiers. Since being drafted by the Mariners with the No. 337 pick in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Garcia has secured a 10-7 record with a 2.50 ERA, 175 strikeouts and seven saves. The 6-foot-4-inch lefty from Granby, Connecticut, began his collegiate career at Quinnipiac before transferring to Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 campaign. In his lone season in College Station, Garcia struck out 56 batters in 43.2 innings of work and posted a 5.56 ERA. While his college numbers didn't jump off the page, Garcia flashed quality stuff out of the bullpen and showed consistent improvement during his stint with the Aggies. Before stepping onto a college diamond, he was ranked as the No. 48 overall player in Connecticut via Perfect Game USA. Since joining the Mariners' organization, he has rapidly climbed the minor league ranks and continues to prove his value as a reliever. In a recent outing against the Wichita Wind Surge, Garcia entered in relief and immediately made a statement, securing the victory for Arkansas. He might not be the most flashy pitcher in the MiLB, but Garcia's stuff gets the job done. His confidence on the mound speaks volumes, proven by his incredible performances during his time with the Travelers. Now, it is time for Garcia to show what he can do on the next big stage with the Rainiers.
