Notre Dame Commit Profile: Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson
Notre Dame Commit Profile: Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Notre Dame picked up a commitment from Texas wide receiver Brayden Robinson, one of the most dynamic wide outs in the country. It was a big pickup for the Irish, who capped off an outstanding receiver class with the commitment from Robinson. Advertisement Here is the recruiting profile for Robinson: BRAYDEN ROBINSON PROFILE Hometown/High School: Red Oak, Texas/Red Oak Height/Weight: 5-9, 160 IB Grade: 4.0 (Top 250 caliber prospect) Upside Grade: 4.0 (Top 100 caliber prospect) 2024 Stats: 79 catches, 1,408 yards, 17.8 YPC, 15 TD Player Comp: Rondale Moore, Purdue Recruited By: Mike Brown Offers: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Auburn, Nebraska, South Carolina, TCU, Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Utah, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Kansas, Houston, Stanford, California. He can do some different things in the Notre Dame offense in similar ways to Jordan Faison, but the slot is his ideal position. He can be a weapon in the screen game, movement plays (jets, reverses) and screen game. Robinson has strong route running skills and shows good ball skills, traits that could allow him to do some work on the outside in certain looks. His size is a concern, but Robinson has the speed and ball skills to overcome it and be a pass catcher that can do damage down the field. Advertisement FILM ANALYSIS Let's get the biggest knock on Robinson out of the way up front. He's not a very big pass catcher. There are limitations as a wide receiver for a player who is listed at 5-9, which might be a bit generous. There are things he can do in high school that he likely won't be able to do in college. He and the Notre Dame coaches might need to do some things with him that look to overcome his last of size. Despite being on the short side, Robinson is very well built and is a strong athlete, which is certainly one thing that helps him overcome his lack of height. His strength and toughness help him make a lot of plays with the ball in his hands. Now that we've got that out of the way let's dive into what makes Robinson such an intriguing pickup for Notre Dame. First and foremost he's an explosive, dynamic athlete in every way. Robinson has legit burner speed, and his track time (10.44 in the 100-meter dash) shows up on film. He can blow past defenders on vertical routes and also with the ball in his hands. He gets to top speed in a hurry and shows excellent acceleration. Robinson's ability to quickly accelerate off the line and out of breaks allows him to be an elite separator at the prep level, and that should translate quite well to college. Robinson is more than just a burner. He's an extremely sudden athlete that is able to change direction in impressive fashion. He can make multiple cuts in a hurry and accelerates extremely quickly out of breaks and with the ball in his hands. He's a nightmare matchup in space due to this traits. Robinson shows good leaping ability for his size but he won't be a guy you're throwing a lot of jump balls too. What you want to do with Robinson is figure out as many ways as possible to get him the football in space, where his athleticism and speed make him extremely difficult to handle. Advertisement What I like about Robinson's game is that he's not just an elite athlete, he shows a really good feel for the game as well. Robinson is a really quality route runner. He not only eats up cushion well, he attacks leverage relatively well and shows impressive burst out of his breaks. He is great at finding openings in the defense with the ball in his hands but he also shows that ability as a route runner, which helps him get into space down the field as well. Robinson has very strong hands and tracks the ball extremely well. Landing Robinson also impacts the special teams as well. It wouldn't surprise me to see him get a chance to make an immediate impact as a return man. You have to find ways to get him the football, whether that's on offense or special teams. Notre Dame football lands its 3rd commitment of July 4th weekend, 2026 WR Brayden Robinson
The fireworks for Notre Dame football wasn't just on July 4th, it was all throughout the weekend with Sunday seeing 2026 wide receiver Brayden Robinson committing to the Irish. Notre Dame beat out Arizona and Miami for the nation's No. 340 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. Robinson's commitment gives the Irish five wide receivers in its 2026 recruiting class, as they continue to add impressive playmakers to the group. Advertisement Robinson, at 5-foot, 8-inches and 160-pounds, most likely is ticketed for the slot, although he could play some on the outside if needed. This weekend saw three of the five committed wide receivers being added to the class, and to me, it was a bit surprising to see all three of them decide on the Irish. Typically, players are a bit pushed off by so many other players being committed at the same position, but Notre Dame has broken that train of thought. The Irish had a massive recruiting weekend, as the 2026 class now is up to 25 total commits, while being ranked as the No. 4 overall group in the 247Sports Team Composite. Notre Dame could land Kaydon Finley, Devin Fitzgerald and Brayden Robinson this weekend
This weekend could be very prosperous for Notre Dame football, as three of its top targets have set their commitment dates on back-to-back-to-back days. Let's take a look at who is making their college choice along with the Irish's chances, starting with the first announcement on July 4th. Advertisement Texas wide receiver Kaydon Finley will make his pick between Texas, Texas A&M and the Irish. He's one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 110 player according to the 247Sports Composite. This recruitment looks very promising for Notre Dame, as there are three crystal ball picks on 247Sports favoring the Irish. The next scheduled player to commit is another receiver in Arizona's Devin Fitzgerald on July 5th. The son of NFL legend Larry will pick one of four teams: Stanford, Clemson, UCLA or Notre Dame. At 6-foot, 2-inches and 205-pounds, the younger Fitzgerald is ranked as the No. 488 prospect by 247Sports. They also like the Irish's chances, but not quite as confident with just one crystal ball pick for the Blue and Gold. Lastly, Brayden Robinson, another receiver, will make his pick on July 6th. The Irish are battling Miami and Arizona for the nation's No. 340 prospect in the 247Sports rankings. Like Fitzgerald, there is just one crystal ball and while it does favor Notre Dame, it's not all that encouraging. It's hard to imagine that the Irish land all three, and while that is a possibility, they already have two other receivers committed in the 2026 class. Finley and Fitzgerald are at the top of my 'want' list, but that's just personal preference. It very well could be a big Fourth of July weekend for Notre Dame. Notre Dame lands wide receiver Kaydon Finley
Wide receiver Kaydon Finley, the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley, has committed to Notre Dame today. Finley was a key Notre Dame target along with WR Devin Fitzgerald, the son of former NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and fellow receiver Brayden Robinson. Advertisement Finley is out of Aledo, Texas, and stands six-foot-tall, weighing 200 pounds. He had been deciding between Notre Dame and Texas. He had 81 receptions for 1,432 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2024, averaging 17.7 yards per catch. He has a four-star rating from 247Sports. The Fighting Irish have been racking up commitments this offseason, and Finley could play a big part in the Irish continuing to be a playoff contender.
