SEVENTEEN lights up Seoul with 10th anniversary extravaganza
K-pop giants draw 100,000 fans for 'B-DAY PARTY' celebration Seoul, South Korea – South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN turned the capital into a vibrant K-pop festival over the weekend, drawing nearly 100,000 fans to celebrate the group's 10th anniversary in spectacular style. The large-scale event, dubbed 'B-DAY PARTY', unfolded across three days around the Seom Sevit islets and Jamsu Bridge in Seoul's Seocho District, blending exhibitions, live performances, and immersive fan experiences. Despite soaring early summer temperatures on Sunday, the final day of festivities, fans swarmed the venue — many clad in SEVENTEEN's signature rose and soft blue colours, waving official light sticks and singing along to the group's hits. Among them were international fans like Samantha from Canada, who said, 'I've been a fan of SEVENTEEN for six to seven years. It's surreal to be here celebrating. I love everything they do and will always support them.' Another attendee, Bree, travelled from California to Seoul just for the celebration. 'I've been a CARAT since day one,' she said, referring to SEVENTEEN's fandom. 'I just had to come!' Organised by Pledis Entertainment, a HYBE Labels subsidiary, the event featured a 'SEVENTEEN History Zone', an interactive message wall, exclusive merchandise booths, and even a commemorative photo card exchange system for fans who completed a stamp tour of the venue. Brands endorsed by the group, including Bibigo and NARS, joined the celebration with dedicated booths that added to the lively atmosphere. Historic Performance on the Han River The highlight of the weekend came on Sunday evening with the 'BURST Stage @Jamsu Bridge', making SEVENTEEN the first K-pop act to perform on the Han River. The concert was streamed live to audiences at Banpo Hangang Park and broadcast globally via multiple platforms, including YouTube, Weverse and ZEPETO. According to organisers, all major events, including the concert and fan pop-ups, were fully booked within minutes of reservations opening. Fans from 138 countries — spanning the US, Japan, China, the Philippines, Singapore, and beyond — accessed the official site to secure their place in the celebrations. A Month-Long Celebration Across Seoul Even after the weekend, the celebration continues. Seventeen-themed installations will remain across Seoul through June, with bridges over the Han River illuminated in tribute to the band. HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan is also showcasing a giant banner that reads 'SEVENTEEN WILL CHALLENGE ETERNITY.' SEVENTEEN-themed ads have also appeared in major South Korean cities, including Busan, Daegu, and Daejeon, as well as internationally in the US, Japan and China. New Album Release Set for 26 May Capping the celebration, SEVENTEEN will release their highly anticipated fifth studio album, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' at 6 p.m. on 26 May. The album features the lead track 'THUNDER', group songs such as 'HBD' and 'Bad Influence' — the latter produced by global hitmaker Pharrell Williams — along with solo tracks from each of the group's 13 members. As the group marks a decade at the top of the K-pop world, SEVENTEEN's message is clear: they're not slowing down — they're just getting started.

Remarkable achievements by Sligo GAA club lauded at City Hall
In his address, Councillor Bree emphasised that the evening was a celebration not just of victories and trophies, but of "history... teamwork... and memories that will last a lifetime." He lauded the Coolera/Strandhill Junior Ladies Football Team for their incredible journey. Their season was marked by an unforgettable Sligo County Final win over Curry, followed by a commanding 13-point victory against St. Fursey's of Galway in the AIB Connacht Junior Championship Final. The team further made history by travelling to Maastricht, representing Ireland, and triumphing over the Paris-Bordeaux Gaels in the All-Ireland quarter-final. Despite their All-Ireland semi-final clash with Mungret St. Paul's ending in heartbreak after an epic 80-minute encounter that saw them tie the game at the death, their relentless effort "captured our hearts and showcased the potential of women's football in our county." The Cathaoirleach commended Pat Kerrigan for his evident leadership and dedication, and joint captains Edwenia O'Malley and Béibhinn Harte for inspiring "not just your teammates, but a generation of young girls across Sligo who now believe that their dreams on the pitch are within reach." Turning to the Coolera/Strandhill Senior Men's Football Team, Councillor Bree hailed their unprecedented back-to-back Sligo Senior Football Championships – a first in the county's proud history. Their triumphs extended to the Connacht Club Senior Football Championship, brought home for the first time in over 40 years, following a tense final replay victory over St. Molaise Gaels and an unforgettable extra-time win against Pádraig Pearse's. While their All-Ireland semi-final against Cuala ended in heartbreak, their rally and fight, bringing the game back to just two points, "proving once again that you belong at the very top of the national stage." John McPartland was praised for his vision and guidance, steering the team through an extraordinary chapter, and Captain Peter Laffey was recognised for his leadership as a cornerstone of this historic campaign. Councillor Bree underscored that these achievements were not isolated, but "built on the spirit of a community, the roar of supporters, the sacrifice of families, and the dedication of countless volunteers." He stated, "Coolera/Strandhill has become a beacon of what is possible when talent meets hard work, and when a community stands together." Also speaking at the reception was Aisling Browne, PRO of Coolera/Strandhill, who thanked Cathaoirleach Bree for hosting the civic reception and congratulated both teams on their achievements for the club, community, and county. She also extended thanks to the community for their invaluable funding, particularly for supporting the Junior Ladies Football Team's travel to Europe. ADVERTISEMENT Pat Kerrigan, Manager of the Coolera/Strandhill Junior Ladies Football Team, thanked his players for their hard work and their ability to "dig deep" when needed. He highlighted the great memories made during their European trip and praised the inter-team support. Peter Laffey, Captain of the Coolera/Strandhill Senior Men's Football Team, thanked his teammates and management for a terrific year. He expressed that it was an honour to have a civic reception held in his team's honour, stating that it "made winning all the more real." Cathaoirleach Councillor Bree concluded by offering heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Sligo County Council and the people of Sligo, acknowledging that the teams had "made history. You have made us proud. And you have paved the way for future generations."

Being a dad changed my life. What does being a father mean to you? Tell us. | Opinion What would you like to tell your dad or a father figure in your life this Father's Day? Share it below. Show Caption Hide Caption Watch dad break down when Airman daughter returns home after 3 years Derrick was overcome with emotion when his Airman daughter, Bree, surprised him on his birthday in Oakland, Mississippi, after three years apart. I'll be happy if my two sons become successful and independent people. But that might also break my heart. Because it will mean they need me less. Sure, I'm glad to be past the dirty diaper phase. And I don't want to do their laundry my whole life. Or pick up the cans, plates and socks that they tuck into the strangest corners. Believe me, there are things I won't miss. Or maybe, kind of, I will. I guess my best hope is that they'll keep feeling I'm a good person to talk to. And that they'll keep coming back. Those are some of the feelings that bubble up as I think about Father's Day. But they're far from universal. Fatherhood has changed radically over the last century, and life circumstances mean we have very different experiences with the men who make up half of our DNA. Some have never known their biological fathers. For others, fathers have left or died, often creating great gaps in their lives. Some have found true fathers in men who are not related to them by blood. Your Turn: 'I love you' was the last thing I said to her. 'Tell Me Lies' is returning for Season 3: New cast members, returning faces and plenty of toxic relationship drama
Tell Me Lies is returning to Hulu for Season 3, and with it, the most toxic situationship known to mankind. I am, of course, talking about the dynamic between Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White), who meet at the fictional Baird College and then proceed to hook up, break up and attempt to destroy one another … before repeating the cycle all over again. All the drama then bleeds over into adulthood, when the gang meets up again for the wedding of their college besties Bree (Catherine Missal) and Evan (Branden Cook) eight years after Lucy's freshman year — a flash-forward that we'll see more of when the show returns for Season 3. In the Season 2 finale, a voicemail from Stephen threatened to implode that relationship — and Lucy's friendship with Bree — moments before Bree was slated to head down the aisle. Classic Stephen. The series, which is executive produced by Emma Roberts and based on Carola Lovering's novel of the same name, has outpaced the book's narrative, meaning it's anyone's guess what comes next. However, we already have some juicy tidbits about the upcoming third season. Here's what you need to know before the series returns. Hulu renewed Tell Me Lies in December 2024, two months after its Season 2 finale. There's no release date for Season 3 just yet, but the show is currently in production in Georgia, where Agnes Scott College in Decatur is a stand-in for the fictional upstate New York college. There was a two-year gap between the first and second seasons of Tell Me Lies, so it's possible we may have a while to wait before new episodes arrive. One person who we're not sure will return is Thomas Doherty, who played Lucy's fan-favorite boyfriend, Leo. Unfortunately, Lucy dumped Leo in favor of getting back with Stephen at the end of Season 2. (Big mistake. Huge.) 'I wasn't actually too surprised about the fans' reaction to my character,' Doherty told Us Weekly. 'After Season 1, Leo just slotted into that gap. It made sense. What did surprise me was all the outpouring of love. It's really kind of overwhelming at times.' For fans of the actor, you can see him on another show: Doherty is joining the cast of Paradise Season 2 opposite Sterling K. Brown. One surprising returning love interest? Tom Ellis, who played college professor Oliver in Season 2. In the second season, married Oliver has a secret relationship with Bree (his wife's student!), which soured when it was revealed that his wife was well aware of the affair. Originally, Ellis — who is married IRL to creator Meaghan Oppenheimer — said that he would not be coming back to the series, but in a May 6 interview with People, he said he's returning to film Season 3 imminently. 'I've got to be honest, the focus isn't so much on my character this season, but it still plays very much into the Bree storyline,' he teased to the magazine. The Lucifer star also hinted there's more drama to come, calling the series as 'dark, toxic and funny' as ever. 'Just when you thought our characters couldn't do anything more ridiculous to themselves, they ended up doing it,' Ellis said. As Ellis promised, Tell Me Lies is diving deeper into Bree's storyline this year. Costa D'Angelo will play Alex, described by Deadline as a psychology grad student and part-time drug dealer who has a 'complicated past with Bree.' He also sounds a little bit like Stephen, as he's described as 'aloof and borderline rude' with 'hidden depths.' Let's just hope that, unlike Stephen, those 'hidden depths' don't reveal more narcissistic personality traits. Alex's addition is particularly intriguing for fans who are eager to know who Bree was having a tense phone conversation with on her wedding day. While some speculated it could be Oliver on the receiving end of the phone call, others thought the call could be connected to Bree's foster care past. Perhaps Alex is her foster brother or someone else she knew before her days at Baird?! Some of the Tell Me Lies cast is dating offscreen — like Van Patten and White, who, as of fall 2024, were still in a relationship. The two originally met around the time of the audition process and have been together ever since. 'Because we established that dynamic first season, the second season was a lot easier to switch on and off,' Van Patten revealed to E! News in fall 2024. 'And we're so different from these characters, so it's honestly just an opportunity to get all of our bad feelings out so that there's none left by the time we go home.' They're not the only members of the Tell Me Lies cast to have found love offscreen with their costar. Cook, who plays Evan, is dating Katherine Hughes, who portrayed his short-lived girlfriend in Season 2. Cook recently appeared in her birthday Instagram post, holding the cake.
