Brethforton major field blaze sees 12 crews called in
Dozens of firefighters have been called to a blaze across 12 acres (4.8 hectares) of fields in Worcestershire. Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of the fire in land near Bretforton, at 11:50 service sent 10 fire crews to the scene with further engines from Gloucestershire and Warwickshire sent to assist. No road closures have been put in place as a result of the blaze, but people are advised to avoid the area while the fire continues to burn.
A spokesperson for the fire service said two water carriers, an aerial ladder platform, two off-road vehicles and an environmental protection unit have also been sent to the scene. No injuries have been reported.
