Marlington grad promoted to US Air Force colonel
A 1999 Marlington High School graduate has been promoted to the rank of colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Brian Dicks was honored during a ceremony at the National War College in Washington, DC. Dicks is stationed at the Pentagon, and resides in the Virginia area with his wife and two children. Dicks is the son of Allen Dicks and Diana Ritchie, and the brother of Aaron Dicks. The National War College is at Fort Lesley J. McNair, also historically known as the Washington Arsenal, a US Army post located at the tip of Buzzard Point, a peninsula that lies at the confluence of the Potomac River and the Anacostia River in Washington, DC.
