‘It's just amazing' — Penn State Behrend helps community with annual rummage sale
It was a day of finding hidden treasure at a local college.
Penn State Behrend held their 14th annual trash to treasure event at the Junker Center on Saturday.
Lake Erie Ale Trail hosts 7th annual Beer Coaster fundraising event
College students and other community members were able to donate gently used items while clearing out their dorms.
This popular rummage sale benefits the United Way of Erie County and its mission to break the cycle of poverty through the community school model.

'They walk out with armfuls of clothing, it's just amazing, but there's a need for it, whether it's for their family or someone else who needs it, some people come in here, they've got relatives that are ill and need some things, and there's always something. We all have junk that we need to get rid of, but it's somebody else's treasure,' said Brian Streeter, director of athletics at Penn State Behrend.
Leftover items were donated to the Salvation Army.
