Bristol Sounds weather as Met Office shares latest forecast
Gig-goers attending Bristol Sounds this week are being forecast to stay dry. This year's Bristol Sounds is starting tomorrow (Wednesday, June 25), taking place until Sunday (June 29) at the Amphitheatre in Bristol city centre. And, according to the Met Office, it is going to stay dry over the next few days. It will feel warm, with temperatures ranging between 24C and 16C. A similar picture is on the cards for Thursday. The Met Office says there could be some light showers first thing in the morning, but it will then change to sunny intervals by late morning. However, it will be slightly cooler, with the maximum temperature forecast for Thursday being 22C. On Friday, the Met Office forecasts it is going to be overcast, with temperatures ranging between 23C and 17C. And, looking at the weekend, the forecast for Saturday is for sunny intervals changing to partly cloudy by night-time. Finally, Sunday - the last day of Bristol Sounds - is being forecast to be overcast changing to sunny intervals by late morning. At present, Sunday is being predicted to be the warmest day this week, with temperatures peaking at 25C. The Met Office is forecasting temperatures will continue to rise onto next week, with 27C being forecast for next Monday. Supergrass kick things off on Wednesday, June 25, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album 'I Should Coco'. They'll be joined by Sports Team as support. The following day (Thursday, June 26) Kaiser Chiefs will also be celebrating 20 years of their 'Employment' album, plus playing their greatest hits. Lime Garden and Morgan Harper Jones will be supporting them. On Friday, June 27, Texas will take to the stage, supported by Turin Brakes. While on Saturday, June 28, The Fratellis will headline a day-long event, joined by Cast, Sleeper, Goldie Lookin Chain, and Stereo MCs. And, finally, Olly Murs will headline the Sunday, with Lucy Spraggan and Billy Lockett in support.

Bristol Sounds attracts thousands of music fans to harbourside
An annual concert series on a city's harbourside has concluded after five days of live Sounds attracted about 22,000 people to the Lloyds Amphitheatre on the city's Kaiser Chiefs, Texas, The Fratellis and Olly Murs took to the stage in the headline slots from Wednesday to Cupples, promoter at Crosstown Concerts and Bristol Sounds, said: "The amphitheatre is the best location for live music in the city." Fun in the sun: Large crowds descended on the harbourside for the five-day music event. Never Miss A Beat: Kaiser Chiefs, Lime Garden and Morgan Harper-Jones performed on Thursday. Tuned in: Goldie Lookin Chain, Cast and The Fratellis performed on Saturday. Soaking up the rays: People enjoyed the sun in between acts Smiles all round: Everybody appeared to be in good spirits as the weather held out for the concerts.

While the eyes of the world may be on Glastonbury, the music has not stopped in our city, with Bristol Sounds welcoming large crowds to the harbourside this Unleashed 3 is almost here, and there is a glamorous new show at Bristol Old of music, there was a special Loyle Carner gig at the O2 academy on Wednesday night, and a Bristol orchestra has been given an award. Tuned in: Bristol Sounds has seen Supergrass, Kaiser Chiefs, Texas and Fratellis play on the harbourside. The annual week of concerts comes to an end with Olly Murs later. One more sleep: The 53 sculptures which will form the Gromit Unleashed 3 trail will be in place across the city on Monday. Aardman's Nick Park joined dozens of local school pupils to celebrate the imminent launch at an event on the Harbourside on Wednesday. "It's just going to light up Bristol for the summer," he said. Pilton pilgrims: Bristol feels the presence of the Glastonbury Festival, whether it be the many traders from the city who set up there, or the queue (above) to get the bus down to Pilton. Power of music: Bristol's own Dovetail Orchestra has been named the UK's first ever Orchestra of Sanctuary. The group was set up to be a welcoming place for asylum seekers and refugees, using music as a way of connecting people. Pretty in pink: Luke Jerram's latest eyecatching work saw the Bristol artist thread a 1km (0.6 miles) long piece of magenta ribbon around the exterior of the RWA for a piece called Negotiating Space. One team: Finance software company Xledger has announced it will once again support Bristol Bears Women as main and also front-of-shirt sponsor. It extends a relationship with Bristol Sport going back to 2019. Medical skills: A team of Ukrainian doctors has been visiting the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children this month, learning skills they can take back and use in their home country to help child victims of the ongoing conflict. Award winners: Bristol's St Peter's Hospice was named Outstanding Charity Retailer at the 2025 Charity Retail Association Awards. The hospice, which operates more than 40 shops across the city and wider area, was recognised for its strong community engagement and sustainable practices. It was all yellow: Pedestrians and cyclists have been celebrating as the crossing known as the Banana Bridge has reopened after more than £1.4m in repairs (and a nice new paint job).

The series of open-air concerts at the Lloyds Amphitheatre will continue with Texas on Friday before The Fratellis headline on Saturday and Olly Murs brings the series to a close on Sunday. Organisers say they expect about 22,000 people to attend the events over the course of the week. Connor Cupples, promoter at Crosstown Concerts and Bristol Sounds, said: "There's nothing better than being back at Bristol Sounds with the waterfront packed for live music." Mr Cupples said: "Supergrass' 30th album anniversary was the perfect start on Wednesday and the atmosphere was incredible."
