The popular eatery in London is part of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. British-African YouTuber Cenzo went viral a few days earlier after a video of him eating chicken in a vegetarian restaurant started making rounds. The footage also drew outrage after people criticised him for hurting the sentiments of a community. Now, the YouTuber has issued an apology, acknowledging his mistakes. The viral video showed Cenzo entering an outlet of Govinda's Restaurant in London. The popular eatery is part of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), which follows spiritual and religious practices. Cenzo could be seen confirming at the counter if it was a vegan place. After he received an answer that the place doesn't serve any meat or chicken, the man took out a KFC box from a plastic bag. He not only opened the bag but also ate the pieces in front of the people standing at the counter. He can then be seen roaming around the premises of the restaurant, asking people if they would like to have a bite of the chicken piece. Cenzo, who is of African descent, was soon asked by the restaurant staff to leave the premises. However, his actions at the vegetarian kitchen were enough to upset several netizens. While he clarified that his act was part of a prank to visit vegan places, his video garnered widespread outrage. In a follow-up video shared on X, Cenzo said, 'If I had known that the restaurant was with the temple, I would have never filmed that prank and left." He revealed his intention to personally visit the restaurant and apologise. He also accepted that his actions were 'ill-timed and irresponsible'. He added that the criticism forced him to research about the restaurant and its religious ideology. 'They believe in no violence and peaceful behaviour towards animals and people. My actions came off as offensive to the community, and I would like to offer heartfelt, sincere apologies," he said. The YouTuber also read about the strict dietary practices of the community, who believe in eating no meat, or even onion and garlic.
