Pregnant Kristen Doute Gives a Glimpse Into Her 'Ethereal' Nursery Ahead of Welcoming First Baby (Exclusive)

Kristen Doute is sharing a peek into her little one's nursery. The Valley star, who is currently pregnant with her first baby with boyfriend Luke Broderick, worked with designer John McClain to decorate her dream nursery for her baby-to-be. Sharing exclusive photos with PEOPLE, Doute got candid about what had to go into the space — and how much input Broderick had. "Every last detail was important," she tells PEOPLE. "The furniture, the aesthetic, the longevity of the pieces in the room. I wanted the nursery to have a completely different feel than the rest of the house." "I wanted warm colors, and even though I'm having a girl, I wanted to stay away from the pink Barbie feel. I love boho aesthetic, ethereal, and I had to incorporate plants. I love having real plants all over the house as it's great for the quality of the air in the home. Plus, Luke has a green thumb!" Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Doute enlisted McClain, who had already designed her first home and her James Mae office, to get started on the project. "I love working with John because he looks at things with a bird's eye view and can visualize the best way to make the most of the space," she says. "It was important to me to ensure that nothing was too 'precious' — that it was durable, practical and that everything could be wiped down and cleaned." As for whether Broderick helped out with the project, the 34-year-old says he did have a little bit of sway. "I might have made a few suggestions!" he says. "He helped me be decisive," clarifies Doute. "I would say he was the sous chef of the project — I made the decisions but he certainly helped make all this happen." Now that she's in her third trimester, Doute is ready to meet her little one — and to be done with her pregnancy. "I am very ready," she admits. "I'm not going to lie, and I think it's important for moms to not sugar coat anything. I am physically miserable." "She says all the time that she feels 'large and in charge,' " says Broderick. "She's very aware of her body at this moment." Although she's ready to be done, the Vanderpump Rules alum admits that there is something she's a little anxious about. "I would say I'm the most anxious about actually giving birth, just what the experience will be," says Doute. "You can have a plan, but there really isn't a plan at the end of the day. It's all up to her." "I would say I'm the most excited about no longer being pregnant! And, as I've said before, just seeing what her personality will be like," she adds. Broderick says he's just can't wait to meet their little one. "I can't wait to touch her and interact with her. I'm very excited," he explains. Thinking ahead to the next few years, Doute and Broderick share that they've thought about what kind of parents they are going to be. "Luke thinks I'm going to be a helicopter parent for sure, but I actually think I'm going to be pretty chill," says Doute. "She's definitely going to buy our daughter way too much stuff," Broderick adds. "I think Luke is going to be the stricter parent for sure and I'm going to be more relaxed. I'm sure I'll be more nervous in the beginning but then I think I"m going to relax and be a more chill mom," explains Doute. Until then, there is one thing Doute is looking forward to after giving birth — her first meal. "A cocktail," she says. "A dirty martini with blue cheese olives." Read the original article on People

Sarah Jessica Parker's three children seen in rare photo at son's ‘extra special' college graduation

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's three children looked all grown up in a rare photo together. The couple's 22-year-old son, James, took to Instagram this week to celebrate his graduation from Brown University by sharing multiple snaps of the big moment, including one with his 15-year-old twin sisters,Tabitha and Marion. In the sweet photo, the 'Sex and the City' actress' eldest child wore his black graduation gown and a brown stole layered over a blue suit and tie. He also wore white sneakers and put his brown waves on full display while carrying his graduation cap in one hand. Tabitha and Marion matched in green shirts and jeans as they walked alongside their big brother following the ceremony. HBO producer Liviya Kraemer, who worked on 'Divorce' with SJP, also released a photo of the new college graduate to honor his academic achievement. 'Extra special congratulations to @jwbr0derick!!!!!!!!! Now let's do this every five years,' Kraemer captioned the photo shared to her Instagram Story. James has followed in his parents' footsteps by pursuing a career in acting and even guest-starred in his dad's show 'Elsbeth' earlier this year. The 'Failure to Launch' star, 60, and Broderick, 63, were not seen in any of the images from the graduation. The couple typically keeps their children out of the spotlight and off social media, though they have made some rare red carpet appearances at Hollywood events over the years. Last April, Parker and the 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' actor attended the Broadway premiere of 'Smash' with their daughters. Four months later, the couple and their entire brood attended the 2024 Paris Olympics. In July 2024, Broderick and his kids walked the red carpet sans Parker for the Broadway opening of 'Oh, Mary!' That summer, Broderick and Parker celebrated their twins' 15th birthday with a balloon-filled party. Broderick and Parker have been married since 1997.

€6.5m invested in mentorship programme to help SMEs

Launched in 2020, MentorsWork has worked with more than 4,000 small businesses across Ireland who were looking for support in areas like digitisation, HR management, sales, finance and sustainability. Businesses apply for the 12-week programme online before they are matched with an expert in their area. David Broderick, director of the SFA, said additional supports like the programme have been invaluable to businesses that have grown 'tired and weary'. 'It was initially set up to be an active upscaling scheme to boost the productivity of SMEs. We looked at key areas like finance and people skills,' he said. 'Uncertainty is not a word that businesses like, but it's unfortunately where a lot of businesses are now – there's a lot of tiredness, there's a lot of weariness. 'They haven't had the chance to recover from the pandemic before being hit with one crisis after the other. 'We've since had the energy crisis, now there's the risk of trade war – a lot of the life supports that were put in place throughout Covid were turned off last year and that's perfectly normal, but it's hard to navigate that on your own.' According to Mr Broderick, programmes like MentorsWork are crucial to allow some businesses to catch up with their larger counterparts when it comes to areas like financing and automation. 'In trying to survive, businesses would cut back their hours, their expenditure and renegotiate with suppliers. But no matter what they do, some sectors are definitely more exposed than others – like retail, hospitality, hairdressers – they need all the help they can get. 'In addition to what a business might be seeking support for, the mentors identify areas that they could improve on – maybe it's around automation or having the right people in the right roles.' A survey carried out by the SFA last year found Irish businesses struggle most with employment costs, followed by attracting and retaining talent. 'I don't think too much has changed. The minimum wage only went up again – for businesses, their margin is completely eroding. 'On top of that, a lot of our members would actually fit into the supply chain of the bigger companies – so with questions around global trade, there's even more uncertainty,' said Mr Broderick.

YDC victim settlement requests total nearly $1.5 billion

Administrator gives quarterly update on YDC settlement fund John T. Broderick, a retired, Supreme Court chief justice, is administrator of the settlement fund the Legislature created to decide how much alleged victims of sexual and/or physical abuse should receive for what happened while they were at the Youth Development Center in Manchester and its successor facility, the Sununu Youth Services Center. The 1,135 people who have filed claims for settlement from the Youth Development Center victims fund have requested just under $1.5 billion — for an average $1.3 million in damages for sexual and/or physical abuse by staff at the facility, according to the latest quarterly report from the fund's administrator. The 296 cases settled to date through either the YDC settlement fund or the Attorney General's Office amount to $156 million, for an average award of $527,027. The Legislative Fiscal Committee will formally receive the report from fund administrator John Broderick on Friday and may get to see preliminary results of a review of the fund from Legislative Budget Assistant Michael Kane's audit division. At the urging of Senate President Sharon Carson, R-Londonderry, the fiscal committee last month requested the audit after members concluded they lacked enough specific information, particularly how claimants' lawyers were being paid and the extent to which potential victims took out loans at extremely high interest rates to get their cases to this point. Kane said his team will wrap up the expedited audit in time for House and Senate budget writers to consider as they decide how much money they will earmark to replenish the fund for the next two years. Broderick, a former chief justice of the state Supreme Court, had asked for $15 million for the remainder of the budget year that ends June 30; the fiscal panel and Executive Council gave him $5 million and have put the other $10 million on hold pending the audit. Broderick has asked for $150 million for 2026-27, which is the maximum under a 2024 law that placed an annual $75 million cap on spending. The House-approved state budget proposal set aside only $10 million each year, which Broderick said would not meet the $26 million due in awards over that two-year period that Formella and he have already approved. Since its inception, the Legislature has allotted $165 million to the fund. June 30 is the deadline for claimants to file an initial application to remain eligible for a potential settlement. In the report, Broderick said the overwhelming number of claimants are represented by the Manchester firm of Nixon and Peabody along with Rus Rilee, who has often been co-counsel. The number of total claims will rise over the next six weeks as a final batch of their clients 'stay' their lawsuits in court and file to seek a settlement, he said. To receive a settlement, claimants must agree not to sue the state in court. About 10% of requested claims involve physical abuse, another 10% allege sexual abuse, and the other 80% of alleged victims said they suffered both. The actionable amount of total award requests was $1.33 billion, Broderick said, once you applied 'statutory maximums' under the law that these alleged victims could receive. Administrator: Alleged victims of YDC abuse have sought nearly $1.5 billion. The Legislative Fiscal Committee has asked for an audit of the settlement fund it set up to decide what alleged victims at the Youth Development Center in Manchester (pictured) should receive in damages for sexual and/or physical abuse. Other business At Friday's monthly meeting, the Legislative Fiscal Committee will also act on Gov. Kelly Ayotte's request to spend a remaining $270,000 balance that had been in a $10 million School Infrastructure Fund that former Gov. Chris Sununu created with federal money. Ayotte said the money must be committed by the end of the federal budget year Sept. 30 or it goes back to the treasury. Seven of the eight schools to receive the final money are in Nashua with Gilford High School becoming the eighth. Also, Business and Economic Affairs Commissioner Taylor Caswell is asking for permission to accept a $12 million federal grant to expand broadband access, part of a $196 million allocation to New Hampshire under the federal Infrastructure Act of 2021. klandrigan@

The city received a $91,500 grant from GameTime for the new playground equipment. The equipment is designed so that children with physical disabilities can climb the tower and use the attached slides. Residents will see new playground features, including the multi-level tower, new slides, climbing apparatuses, stand-alone spinners, walkways, new swings, and a variety of activity centers. The slide, donated by the Anderson Rotary in 2018 in honor of 100 years of service to the city's youth, will remain as a feature of the park's play area. 'This park is a popular attraction,' Broderick said. 'It has a walking trail, fish pond, basketball, tennis and pickleball courts.' He said the planned upgrades include an improvements to the restroom facilities at the park. Broderick said the city has purchased equipment for a park upgrade in the Meadowbrook area to be completed this summer. 'It takes a team effort,' he said. 'We have expanded the footprint of this park for added equipment.' Tom Tackett, maintenance supervisor for the Anderson Parks Department, said the playground equipment is known as the 'Dallas Dazzler,' which was on display at a national trade show. He said the city has worked with May and May, which has done installations of equipment on seven upgraded city parks recently. 'This is a heavily used park,' Tackett said. Kenny Davenport, a member of the Anderson Park Board, said the board has been active in pursuing park improvements. 'Ther is no greater joy than to see the playground for the kids to use,' he said. Broderick said the city has upgraded 25 of its 30 parks over the past nine years. He said the Park Department has an annual budget of $3.5 million, which at one time was only $800,000. Last year the city put in new equipment at Shadyside Park and the Geater Center, utilizing a grant opportunity.
