His songs carry lyrics drawn from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy and Sayed Hegab to music by the country's most renowned composers such as Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, Omar Khairat, among others. Fire of Anatolia - dance 29, 30, 31 January, 8pm Cairo opera house, main hall, Zamalek, Cairo Fire of Anatolia is a Turkish dance group consisting of several dancers and choreographers who gained international acclaim as a symbol of Turkish culture and heritage and is one of Turkey's most popular cultural exports. Founded by Mustafa Erdoğan in 2001, the dance group has performed in over 85 countries. Alexandria Opera House String Orchestra Friday 31 January, 8pm Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre), Alexandria The orchestra, led by soloist violin Mahmoud Osam, will perform concertos by renowned German composer Bach. Born in the late Baroque period, Bach is widely recognized for his contributions to Western classical music. Some of his most famous compositions include the Brandenburg Concertos, the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Mass in B Minor, and the St. Matthew Passion. Tales of Gouha - performance Friday 31 January, 2pm Tuesday 4 February, 11am Wednesday 5 February, 11:30am AUC Tahrir Square, Falaki Theater, Downtown Cairo The legendary tales of Gouha, a beloved folklore figure, come to life through live illustration and storytelling. These short, anecdotal stories depict him in absurd situations, exposing human follies, societal hypocrisies, and the complexities of life with a rich tapestry of wit, wisdom, and social commentary. El-Hadra Troupe - concert Friday 31 January, 7pm River hall, El-Sawy Culturewheel, 26th of July street, Zamalek, Cairo Composed of vocalists and chanters, El Hadra presents a spiritual state of religious hymns and praise. Founded by Nour Nageh, the troupe performs their renditions of classical standard Arabic Sufi poems of Sufi sheikhs explaining the love of Allah and the Prophet's praise. Broken Mold - music Saturday 1 February, 8pm River hall, El-Sawy Culturewheel, 26th of July street, Zamalek, Cairo Formed in 2024, Broken Mold is a Billie Eilish tribute band, composed of 7 members. Nagham El-Bahr - performance Monday 3 February, 7pm Rawabet Art Space, 5 Hussein Basha Al Meamari, Downtown Cairo Nagham El-Bahr troupe will perform 'Sha'bana', which is an interactive musical performance celebrating the traditional arts of the Red Sea region. The music is a blend of marine with Bedouin melodies, featuring local instruments like the simsimiyya, marine rhythms, oud, qanun, and hand claps. 'Sha'bana'' refers to the final musical performance in the month of Sha'ban, preparing for Ramadan. Short link:
