Broncos' Dre Greenlaw ranked among NFL's best linebackers
Broncos' Dre Greenlaw ranked among NFL's best linebackers Pro Football Focus writer Mason Cameron recently released his list of the top 32 linebackers ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Although a free agent signing from the San Francisco 49ers, Cameron selected Denver Broncos newcomer Dre Greenlaw as one of the NFL's top linebackers. Cameron chose Greenlaw as the fifth-best linebacker, primarily based on his play before his Achilles injury in the Super Bowl in February 2024. While he played two games in 2024, his 247 tackles combined in 2022 and 2023 will help build an impressive resume while showing his reputation as a linebacker. Cameron quickly noted that Greenlaw, when healthy, is a top-tier linebacker; he did draw on the concern that there are questions about his health. 'Although he played just 34 snaps in 2024, Greenlaw was on his way to the upper echelon of linebacker play before his injury," Cameron wrote for PFF. "His profile as one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL was on full display from 2022 to 2023, when he posted a combined 88.9 PFF coverage grade. While there are questions regarding the level he can return to, Greenlaw's ceiling is high and worthy of this lofty placement.' Denver hopes Greenlaw can help further transform the Broncos' defense, which was among the NFL's best last fall. With Pat Surtain in the secondary, Greenlaw's presence in the middle can help Denver get over the hump in 2025, health permitting. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

PFF names Broncos' top 3 players ahead of 2025 season
PFF names Broncos' top 3 players ahead of 2025 season Pro Football Focus writer Trevor Sikkema recently wrote an article about the three top players for each NFL team entering the 2025 season. Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys and Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns are some players who represent a sense of importance for their teams. For the Denver Broncos, Sikkema chose cornerback Patrick Surtain, wide receiver Courtland Sutton and offensive guard Quinn Meinarz as the three top players for the franchise. Below, he elaborates why, with the data to prove it. 'Surtain earned PFF's Best Coverage Defender Award in 2024 with an 87.4 coverage grade while allowing just 0.53 yards per coverage snap," Sikkema wrote. "Meinerz posted a 0.51 WAR in 2024, third-best among all guards, on the strength of an 87.5 run-blocking grade. Sutton followed with a 0.44 WAR and a 77.0 receiving grade, placing him among the top 20 wideouts league-wide.' The Broncos made their first playoff appearance since their 2015 Super Bowl-winning season in 2024. Hopefully, the three players mentioned can take the Broncos deep into the postseason -- and back to the Super Bowl -- soon. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Thomas is now the 13th first-ballot selection and the 38th member of the Broncos' Ring of Fame. Thomas, who died in 2021, will be inducted Oct. 17 when the Broncos host the New York Giants. "Demaryius Thomas' election to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame — in his first year of eligibility — is a testament to the indelible mark he left on our organization and community," Owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner said in a statement. "One of the most beloved players and greatest wide receivers in franchise history, Demaryius inspired our fans with breathtaking athleticism, record-setting performances and a joyful, infectious spirit. While we wish 'D.T.' was with us to celebrate this special moment, we look forward to honoring Demaryius alongside his Super Bowl 50 teammates during an unforgettable Alumni Weekend." The seizures that followed effectively ended his NFL career. It wasn't just about football for him but how he wanted to be remembered as a person. "This will make Demaryius' dream come true to be part of the prestigious Denver Broncos Ring of Fame. It's definitely going to be emotional and I am honored to represent him. I know D.T. is smiling in heaven with this exciting news that came out today."

Demaryius Thomas elected to Broncos' Ring of Fame
Demaryius Thomas elected to Broncos' Ring of Fame The ultimate Bronco. Demaryius Thomas has been selected to the #BroncosROF!#LLDT 🧡 — Denver Broncos (@Broncos) May 27, 2025 The Denver Broncos will honor one of the franchise's best receivers, Demaryius Thomas, this year. The team announced Tuesday that the late "DT" has been elected to the team's Ring of Fame. Thomas was a hallmark of the Broncos during his career. Selected 22nd overall in the 2010 NFL draft out of Georgia Tech, Thomas began his career quietly in Denver. In 2010, Thomas only had 22 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns. In 2011, Thomas started to make a bigger impact as the Broncos mired through quarterback controversy early in the season between then-starter Kyle Orton and fan favorite Tim Tebow. As Denver marched towards a playoff berth in 2011, Thomas made one of the most memorable plays in franchise, and arguably, NFL history. Against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, Thomas caught a pass from Tebow that went 80 yards for a touchdown, ending the first overtime playoff game under the new format. Thomas's next four years would mark the best years of his career, as he caught passes from Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. Thomas became the bona fide No. 1 receiver for Manning, leading the team in receptions from 2012-2017. Thomas led the Broncos in touchdowns in the 2013 season (14) when Denver had the most prolific offensive season in NFL history. Thomas set a Super Bowl record for most targets (19) in Super Bowl XLVIII's blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He caught 13 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. Thomas finally earned a Super Bowl ring with the Broncos in Super Bowl 50, catching only one pass for eight yards in the win over the Carolina Panthers. Thomas helped fill the void at receiver after Manning's retirement prior to the 2016 season. In 2018, Thomas was traded mid-season to the Houston Texans, as rookie Courtland Sutton began to emerge as another top target in the Broncos offense. Thomas, ironically, helped Houston beat Denver in Week 9 of the 2018 season after the trade. Thomas only played one more year in the NFL after the trade, this time with the New York Jets, where he only caught 36 passes for 433 yards and one touchdown. Thomas finally hung up his cleats in June 2019, as a Bronco. After his retirement, it seemed like life would go on quietly for Thomas, until tragedy struck in 2021. Thomas was found dead at age 33 in his Atlanta, Georgia home on December 9, 2021 of an apparent seizure. Thomas's death stunned all, and the Broncos gave touching tributes in his honor the rest of that season. Thomas has a place in nearly every Broncos' fan's mind and heart. His place in team history is also on display yearly as his name is on the team's MVP award.
