High school roundup: Indian River opens season by topping Carthage in girls lacrosse
Apr. 1—CARTHAGE — Allison LaMora totaled two goals and two assists and Brylee Amato scored twice and recorded seven draw controls as Indian River outlasted Carthage 7-6 in a Frontier League girls lacrosse season-opening game Tuesday.
LaMora added two ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Wolves. Kallie Delles also scored twice and had two ground balls and three caused turnovers. Lilly Walsh also scored for Indian River, and Keera LaLonde provided an assist.

The Wolves' Cora Russell recorded 10 saves in goal.
SOUTH JEFFERSON 23, GENERAL BROWN 3
Amalia Netto connected for seven goals and three assists and contributed two ground balls as the defending Section 3 champion Spartans started their season with a decisive win over the Lions in a Frontier League opener in Adams.
Emma Kelly followed with three goals and two assists for South Jefferson and Lydia Tremont also scored three times. Kendra Staie provided two goals, two assists and two ground balls. Lily Morrison scored twice and assisted on another goal. Leyna Hodges also scored twice.
Aliana West, Layla Perry, Brooke Perry and Heydin O'brein each scored once. Chloe Elmer led with 16 draw controls and Brooke Perry had five.

For General Brown, Alivia Cross, Mollie Peckham and Claire Ramie each scored a goal.
BOYS LACROSSE
WATERTOWN 14, EAST SYRACUSE-MINOA 5
Kage Loftus delivered four goals and assisted on four more as the Cyclones pulled away with six goals in the third quarter to beat the Spartans in a nonleague game in East Syracuse.
Nico Spaziani scored three times for Watertown and added an assist. Jack Adams supplied five points on two goals and three assists. Owen O'Donnell and Michael Lumbis each scored two goals. Norman Cushman made 10 saves in net and Jacob Moore contributed one.
Cayden Claflin led East Syracuse-Minoa with three goals. Jackson Tedesco added a goal and an assist and Noah Taylor also scored. Nicholas Courcy assisted on two goals.

In Northern Athletic Conference games, Massena defeated Canton 10-7 and Saranac Lake Placid edged Salmon River 15-14 in overtime.
GIRLS LACROSSE
OFA 8, MALONE 6
Mia Jeneault and Brooke Irvine each recorded three goals and two assists as the Blue Devils won a Northern Athletic Conference-opening game against the Huskies in Malone.
Avery LaPage and Kenna Stull added second-half goals for OFA, which rallied from a 6-4 deficit. Quinn Duprey saved 12 shots in goal for the Blue Devils.
Chateaugay student Irelynn LaPlante scored three goals for Malone.
