Meet-and-greet with cast of Chicago at the Forum Theatre

BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – The longest running show on Broadway is returning to the Forum Theater, and there's a special offer for opening night only. Broadway in Binghamton is bringing Chicago to the Broome County Forum Theatre, opening on Monday, May 5th. Chicago is a six time Tony Award winning, Grammy winning musical about fame, fortune, and scandal during the roaring 20's. There's a gala fundraiser on opening night, through the Friends of the Forum Theatre, including a pre-show cocktail party at SUNY Broome's Culinary and Event Center, choice seating for the show, and a post-show dessert reception and meet and greet with the cast of the show. Board member Ron Sall says the fundraiser supports fixes and upgrades to the Forum. 'We offer quality. It's American Food and Vending doing the food. The service is tremendous, their menu is off the charts. We have a lot of fun. We'll have some music during the gala. And then after, the eyes popping out of the young kids that come to see the stars of the show. It's wonderful interaction,' says Sall. The 'All That Jazz Gala' cocktail party runs from 5 to 7 p.m. and Chicago starts at 7:30. Followed by the reception and meet and greet. Tickets to the gala are $150 per person. Comedian Trae Crowder coming to Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A comedian and popular TikTok star known for his thick accent and unexpected political takes is coming to Binghamton on Sunday. Trae Crowder is headlining a comedy show at the Broome County Forum Theatre. Crowder went viral for his character 'liberal redneck.' Crowder, a Tennessee native, grew up in a liberal family surrounded by conservatives. In his standup, he discusses modern politics as well as his life experiences from the rural south to sunny suburban California. Crowder says comedy makes talking about serious issues more palatable. 'If you're stressed out about something and you can find a way to laugh at it or about it or even just laugh about something else entirely, it just makes it easier to stomach. That way if you add a little comedy to your media diet, you won't just be exclusively dooming and glooming all of the time. That's not good for anybody,' said Crowder. The show will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets begin at $39. To purchase, click here. The Cher Show coming to the Forum

(WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Forum Theatre is turning back time to honor a performer known for her bold personality, bedazzled costumes, and beloved hit music. The Cher Show is coming to Binghamton on Monday and Tuesday. The jukebox musical tells the rags to riches story of the legendary superstar Cher. From her humble beginnings as a little girl, to meeting Sonny and falling in love, to her iconic appearances on screen, audience members will get to take a look at Cher behind the sequins and long black hair. Cher is portrayed by three women who represent the different eras of her life. SUNY Cortland graduate Ella Perez plays Babe, the 1960s Cher. Perez says whether you're a Cher fan or not, the musical is very inspiring. She says it gives you a whole new perspective on Cher, especially in her early life. 'When you think of Cher you think of the bad ass, foul mouthed, diva icon Cher and not really necessarily a really shy, introverted version of Cher who couldn't even go on stage without Sonny right next to her. So, I think it's really cool and fun to bring that Cher to light because not many people know about her but she's really crucial and she's always in there,' said Perez. Perez says audience members will be up dancing in the aisles because the show features 35 of Cher's top hits. Show times for The Cher Show are at 7:30 both nights. Tickets start at $55.
