Man charged with multiple DWIs after crashing car in Town of Fenton with kids inside
TOWN OF FENTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple felony DWI charges after crashing his car with two small kids inside in the Town of Fenton, the Broome County Sheriff's Office announced Friday. 42-year-old Jason M. Delong, of Susquehanna, Pa, is accused of displaying signs of impairment, including glossy eyes, poor coordination and balance, and a failed field sobriety test after crashing his car with a three-year-old and four-year-old inside in the area of 792 NY Route 369 in Fenton. Officials say the car was traveling north on Rt. 369 when it left the road, struck a guardrail and crossed two lanes of traffic before stopping on Gould Road. Police say there were no child safety seats in the car either. Members of Broome Ambulance and Port Crane Fire responded with BCSO Road Patrol and evaluated the kids for any injuries. The children were cleared without injury. The two children involved remained at the nearby residence with a community member and members of the Broome County Sheriff's Office until a family member arrived to take them home. Delong was processed and arraigned at the Central Arraignment Part before being remanded tothe Broome County Correctional Facility. He was officially charged with: Two (2) Counts of Aggravated DWI (with Child Passenger under 16, First Offense),Class E Felonies Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Prior Conviction), a Class E Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony Two (2) Counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, Class A Misdemeanors BCSO was assisted at the scene by Broome Ambulance Services and Port Crane FireDepartment. Police searching for missing Binghamton mother
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Police are searching for a 28-year-old Binghamton woman last seen in Endicott after visiting her children on Friday, May 23. Victoria Price, who also goes by Victoria Jaliah, was last seen in Endicott at the bus stop in front of the Burger King on E Main Street on Friday between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Her family says she was heading back to Binghamton after visiting her two children in Endicott. Price was wearing a grey sweatshirt, olive green pants, black and white Converse, and a black backpack. Price is approximately 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighs roughly 280 pounds, with curly brown hair and brown eyes. Binghamton Police initially took the report, and the Broome County Sheriff's Office confirmed with News 34 that its detectives are now on the case. In the message to News 34, Price's family said 'We need Victoria's story out there! Her Mom, children, father of her children, family and friends are extremely worried and need her back NOW.' Local residents in the area are encouraged to check their doorbell or security cameras to assist in the case. Four arrested for Big Dipper BBQ 2 burglary
CONKLIN, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of two Conklin men and two juveniles on multiple charges following an investigation into a burglary at Big Dipper BBQ 2. Just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, deputies responded to a burglary complaint at Big Dipper BBQ 2 on Conklin Road in the town of Conklin. One of the owners found evidence of a break in when they arrived for work that day, with a window air-conditioning unit broken and moved, along with ice cream left on the floor. Security footage, according to police, showed four individuals breaking into the business just before 1 a.m. that morning. Deputies say several thousand dollars in damages were caused to the floor and A/C unit. Several tubs of ice cream and bottles of soda were taken, and a chest freezer was left open causing the ice cream spill. A total of twenty-two 5-gallon tubs of ice cream were reportedly lost due to possiblecontamination by the suspects. The subsequent investigation conducted by BCSO Detectives, which was aided by tips fromcommunity members, successfully identified and apprehended the four suspects involved. As a result of the investigation, the following were charged: Tracy L. Bryce, age 20 of Conklin, NY, was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2ndDegree and Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Class D Felonies Jordan C. Wilson, age 20 of Conklin, NY, was Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree andBurglary in the 3rd Degree, Class D Felonies Two juveniles were each charged with one (1) count of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, aClass D Felony Bryce and Wilson were processed at the Broome County Sheriff's Office and arraigned atCentral Arraignment Part, while the juveniles were processed and arraigned separately beforebeing released to their families. BCSO hosting drug take-back across Broome County this weekend
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – If you have expired or unused prescription drugs wasting away in your cabinet, you may want to consider giving them back this weekend across Broome County. The Broome County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Broome County Health Department, will be hosting the Drug Enforcement Administration's prescription drug 'take back' initiative at multiple locations on Saturday, April 26. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents are encouraged to turn in expired and unused medications for disposal, preferably in the original container with the label intact. Those participating can cross their names off the label if they wish. All prescription medications, ointments, and sprays will be accepted. You can drop off your prescriptions at the following locations: Broome County Sheriff's Office – 155 Lt.
