Jane Birkin's original Hermes bag was sold off at auction last week, fetching a staggering 8.6 million euros for Southeby's Auction House.
The bag, originally designed for the French actress in 1984, has since achieved iconic status.

An entry-level Hermes Birkin starts at around €10,000 but can rise to as much as €250,000 depending on the bag's leather and hardware, and the exclusivity of the particular piece.
