Sarwate joins state cricket team for Buchi Babu tournament
Raipur: All-rounder Aditya Sarwate , 35, has been included in the 19-member Chhattisgarh cricket team for the upcoming Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament, which begins on Aug 18. A right-hand batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Sarwate has previously represented Vidarbha and played for Kerala in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. The team, led by Amandeep Khare , will begin its campaign against Maharashtra on 18 Aug. Chhattisgarh will face Himachal Pradesh on 22 Aug and Bengal on 26 Aug. The semifinals are scheduled for 31 Aug and 3 Sept, with the final to be played on 6 Sept. Besides Sarwate, medium-pacer Ravi Kiran from Hyderabad, who has been part of the team for the past three to four years, will be the other professional player in the squad.
