Harbour Lodge brings Buffaloes tradition to the heart of Milford Haven
A CEREMONIAL meeting of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes took place at The Vibe in Milford Haven on Wednesday (May 28), marking a new chapter for Harbour Lodge 10704. Sixteen officers and brethren from across the North Pembrokeshire Provincial Grand Lodge attended the occasion, relocating their lodge room to the town centre venue and officially opening The Vibe as the new home for Harbour Lodge. The evening brought the traditions of the RAOB – one of the world's largest fraternal and philanthropic organisations – into the public eye, with officers donning their regalia and holding a full lodge meeting. Harbour Lodge will now hold its regular gatherings at The Vibe, which will serve as its base for charitable efforts, social events and ceremonies. The RAOB provides support to its members and raises funds for a wide range of good causes. There are several active lodges in Pembrokeshire, including two in Milford Haven. A spokesperson for the lodge said: 'Our heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude go to our fellow brother lodges – Oberon Lodge, Saint Davids Lodge and Picton Castle Lodge – for attending and making the evening that little bit more special.' Interested in becoming a 'Buff'? If you are male and over 18 years of age, you can apply to join the Order. For more information, contact your local lodge. Shedeur Sanders not emerging as Browns' QB1, per report
Colorado fans have been laser-focused on the rise of Shedeur Sanders, the face of the Buffaloes' revival. But as the former Buff gears up for his NFL debut in Cleveland, it's not his name topping the depth chart—yet. Instead, it's Kenny Pickett, the 26-year-old quarterback with something to prove, who's taking the early lead in Cleveland's high-stakes QB battle. Advertisement According to long-time Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot of Pickett enters organized team activities as the 'frontrunner to win the starting job at the outset.' She added, 'He'll take the initial first-team reps in OTAs and probably the mandatory minicamp, and it seems like it's his job to try to keep for now.' Pickett's 2024 season with the Philadelphia Eagles was limited but steady. He completed 59.5% of his passes in five appearances, tossing for 291 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. While those numbers don't scream superstar, they represent stability—something the Browns have sorely lacked under center. Deshaun Watson's time in Cleveland appears to be nearing its end after inconsistent performances and ongoing durability concerns. Joe Flacco, while a veteran presence, is likely a backup plan. And though both Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel offer potential, Cabot's report confirms the coaching staff isn't rushing either rookie into the spotlight—yet. Head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear this offseason is about finding the long-term answer at quarterback. That leaves the door wide open for a midseason shakeup—especially if Pickett stumbles. Advertisement For Buffs fans watching from Boulder, the takeaway is simple: Shedeur may not be QB1 just yet, but this competition is just heating up. And if Pickett can't hold the lead, No. 2 might be a short stop on Sanders' path to the top. Check out these highlights of Broncos tryout TE Mikey Harrison
Check out these highlights of Broncos tryout TE Mikey Harrison The Denver Broncos are searching high and low for players to round out the 90-man roster. This time, they didn't have to look too far, inviting wide receiver/tight end Michael Harrison from the University of Colorado down the road to their Dove Valley headquarters for rookie minicamp, which takes place this week. Harrison (6-3, 190 pounds) caught passes from touted NFL prospect Shedeur Sanders in 2023, before transferring to the San Diego State Aztecs in 2024. In 2023, Harrison had his best statistical season, hauling in 31 passes for 284 yards and five touchdowns. With those five scores, Harrison set a Buffalo record for most touchdowns in a season by a walk-on. Harrison was nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding college football walk-on. Harrison also saw time on special teams at Colorado, which may be a boon for Broncos special teams coach Darren Rizzi. It will remain to be seen if the former Buff can catch on in the state where he played his best football. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

CU jersey retirements cause a stir
The University of Colorado will retire the jerseys of former Buffs Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter at CU's spring game on Saturday. Why it matters: Hunter and Sanders, CU head coach Deion Sanders' son, will become the fifth and sixth players in Colorado football history to have their numbers retired. Friction point: The decision to preserve Hunter's No. 12 legacy is understandable, if premature. He is only the second Heisman winner in school history and a two-time first-team All-American. Shadeur Sanders' selection has drawn more criticism, with some calling it recency bias at best and nepotism at worst. Reality check: Sanders spent two years at CU, was never a first-team All-American, went 13-11 as a starter and made one bowl game. Some, like former Buff Chad Brown, have pointed out that Sanders is probably not even the greatest player to wear No. 2 at CU. Cornerback Deon Figures was a key player on CU's 1990 championship team, won the Jim Thorpe Award and is in the College Football Hall of Fame. Buffs greats such as Alfred Williams, Eric Beiniemy, Darian Hagan and Kordell Stewart have not had their numbers retired. What they're saying: Fans, media and former players have weighed in. Former CU player and coach Darrin Chiaverini posted on X that there needs to be a "cool-off period" before numbers are retired. David Bakhtiari, a great CU player in his own right, posted the team was "trying to be slick thinking you can just sneak that one in there." Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler led off his column with "2 soon." Caveat: While CU has claimed Nos. 2 and 12 will be " officially untouchable," retiring jerseys does not work in college as it does in the pros. With teams often carrying more than 100 players at a time, numbers in college simply can't stay out of circulation for long. Three of the Buffs' previously "retired" numbers — Bobby Anderson's No. 11, Byron "Whizzer" White's No. 24, Joe Romig's No. 67 — are already back. Rashaan Salaam's No. 19 was declared off-limits for 19 years in 2017, but it will come back.
