BIS Bengaluru hosts capacity building programme
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bengaluru Branch Office, conducted a Capacity Building Programme on Wednesday for officials from the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka. The initiative aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of quality and safety standards in women and child care services.
M. Sushma Rao, head of BIS Bengaluru, underscored the bureau's commitment to integrating Indian Standards into public service frameworks. She encouraged active participation from the participants and stressed the importance of applying the knowledge gained to foster quality consciousness in government services.
Raghavendra T, director, Department of Women and Child Development, highlighted the critical role of quality and safety in products and services provided under the department's scope.
The programme included interactive sessions and discussions aimed at practical implementation of standards. Sixty officials from the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka participated and engaged in discussions and shared their field level experiences.
