In Miami, we work on a different sort of summer body. As temperatures rise, rainy days set in and snowbirds migrate north, locals loosen up their proverbial belts for Miami Spice, two months of guilt-free feasting on set menus across Miami's best restaurants —from Miami Beach to Coral Gables and every pocket in between. Now in its 24th year, Miami Spice (part of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau's Summer Temptations program) promises more and better deals than ever. With over 300 participating restaurants, including several with Michelin stars and James Beard-awarded chefs, Miami Spice 2025 is shaping up to be worth the extra calories (especially when you factor in all the savings you'll be making in the process!). Whether it's a quickie lunch, a celebratory brunch or a leisurely dinner at a waterfront restaurant in Miami, be sure to book early—the best tables always go quickly. What is Miami Spice 2025? Miami Spice is a two-month dining promotion across Greater Miami when top eateries offer more affordable, prix-fixe menus at lunch and brunch ($30 or $35) and dinner ($45 or $60). When is Miami Spice 2025? Miami Spice runs from August 1 through September 30. Some of the deals run Monday through Sunday, though many restaurants opt to offer their Miami Spice menus during off-peak hours. SouthPark restaurant temporarily closed for health-code violations
Bulla Gastrobar in SouthPark is working to reopen after being hit with multiple health-code violations in the last month. ALSO READ: Deadly fire breaks out at construction site in SouthPark area of Charlotte The Spanish-inspired restaurant has been shut down four times — totaling more than 10 days — since May 8 by the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department. A Spanish restaurant with Miami roots is expanding in Florida. See details
A restaurant that started in Coral Gables and expanded to Doral is spreading its wings across Florida. Next stop: Florida's Gulf Coast, at University Town Center's West District. Construction is underway for Bulla Gastrobar. The restaurant features a modern Spanish menu. Various shareable tapas, paellas, cheeses and cured meats dot the menu. A construction timeline or opening date has not been publicly announced. Bulla, pronounced boo-yah, has locations in four states. The original restaurant's success in Coral Gables led to an expansion in 2016 when Bulla opened in Doral, according to company history. MORE: This popular Spanish restaurant is now serving its famous tapas in Kendall Bulla Gastrobar coming to Bradenton area The casual eatery, open for brunch, lunch and dinner, also has restaurants in Tampa, Winter Park and Atlanta. The menu has slight variations between locations, though tapas figure prominently. Tapas are appetizers or shared small plates popular throughout Spain. The Tampa location's menu offers over two dozen small plate options, with items like sauteed garlic shrimp, chicken croquettes, cannelloni and gazpacho soup. There's also a selection of cured meats and cheeses, Spanish rice dishes and mains including short ribs, steak, salmon and burgers. The restaurant has an extensive drink menu featuring beer, cocktails, sangria, wine and non-alcoholic options. Bulla offers catering and event options, and reservations can be made in advance.
