Four Bundesliga players nominanted for the Ballon d'Or
The nominations for the 2025 Ballon d'Or have been revealed, and four players from the Bundesliga have been included. The four players are Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund), Harry Kane and Michael Olise (Bayern Munich), and Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen). Guirassy's season saw him end the year as the top scorer in the Champions League, while his overall goal tally was 38 goals and six assists in 50 games. Kane ended the season with his first-ever major trophy as his 26 goals helped Bayern regain the Bundesliga title. The 32-year-old also won the Bundesliga player of the season award. Olise also came away with an individual award as he won the Rookie of the Season award in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old was a revelation in his first season in Germany, ending the season with 20 goals and 20 assists in 50 games. The final nominee from Germany is Florian Wirtz. Although he is now a Liverpool player, his performances with Leverkusen were the reason for his nomination. The 22-year-old at times single-handedly carried die Werkself throughout the season, and his final year in Germany saw him end with 16 goals and 14 assists in 45 games. GGFN | Jack Meenan
