Man dies after being hit by bus in Wagga Wagga
A man has died after he was hit by a bus in the southern New South Wales city of Wagga Wagga on Sunday. Emergency services received reports of a crash on Edward Street, also the Sturt Highway, at about 12:20pm. Officers attached to the Riverina Police District attended the scene and found a man had been hit by a bus. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was treated at the scene but could not be revived. Police have established a crime scene and begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed to traffic while police, Wagga Wagga Voluntary Rescue Association and Riverina Traffic Services personnel remained on scene. The bus driver was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital to undergo mandatory testing. A report on the crash will be prepared for the coroner.
