Pop-up event for unisex fashion brand co-founded by Co Antrim woman
Olivia Beisty from Co Antrim and Kaitlyn Sweeney, who's Scottish, set up The Sixth Language in January. The women told Business Telegraph that their experience of working in fashion start-ups had inspired them to set up the business. They've filmed a fashion shoot in Ballycastle close to wedding venue Limepark, which is owned by Olivia's family. And on Friday, they'll be running a pop-up store at coffee shop Drip on south Belfast's Ormeau Road. Kaitlyn said: 'We found a lack of real life wardrobe-friendly pieces that combined flexibility, aesthetic appeal, and accessible pricing. 'Our brand focuses on elevated staples with a touch of personality: items designed to be styled in multiple ways, worn on repeat, and shared between friends or partners.' Most of the items in the latest collection are designed to be worn by both sexes, she said, explaining that the brand name was inspired by the idea that there are five 'love languages'. 'We joked that sharing music with each other was our sixth love language,' Kaitlyn said.
