Former actress Busiswe Kunene launches podcast to tell unheard stories
Former Muvhango star and seasoned TV presenter Busiswe Kunene has launched a thought-provoking podcast that dives into the real stories of everyday South Africans, far beyond glitz and gossip.
Busiswe, who became a household name for her role as Agnes in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, is again stepping into the spotlight — this time behind the mic. She's joined forces with voices from all walks of life to create a podcast that goes deep into the issues and experiences affecting ordinary South Africans.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Busiswe reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry, which began long before her acting days.
'I've been a TV presenter since 1996 on Eco Act, an environmental programme. I moved on to Sasko Sam and later co-hosted Young Tongues with Bonginkosi 'Zola 7' Dlamini on Take 5, where we tackled social issues such as teenage pregnancy.'
Despite her experience and talent, Busiswe acknowledged the industry hasn't always been kind or consistent. 'The industry is not as accommodating as before, so I decided to employ myself,' she added.
