'An absolute piece of sh*t': Dave Portnoy says he's no fan of Patrick Mahomes and slams Kanye West while defending Taylor Swift
Dave Portnoy thrashed Kanye West in defense of Taylor Swift (Getty Images) Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy isn't holding back. In a recent podcast episode, he took aim at both Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and rapper Kanye West , making it clear where his loyalties lie. While defending Taylor Swift , Portnoy revealed Mahomes' apparent dislike for Barstool and blasted Kanye as 'a piece of sh*t,' reigniting two major pop culture feuds. Why Dave Portnoy doesn't like Patrick Mahomes and still stands with Taylor Swift Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy recently revealed on his podcast that he's no fan of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes—despite the star's close ties to Taylor Swift through Travis Kelce . Portnoy, a vocal Taylor Swift supporter, clarified that his Swiftie status doesn't extend to backing her boyfriend's NFL team. 'So, you're a Swiftie. You're rooting for the Chiefs and Kelce?' a co-host asked him. Portnoy's quick reply: 'No, I'm not.' The reason? Mahomes allegedly doesn't like Barstool. 'Kanye is a piece of sh*t.' - Dave Portnoy Defends Taylor Swift | CLUB SHAY SHAY According to Portnoy, former NFL lineman Taylor Lewan asked Mahomes during a media session if he would do an interview now that Lewan and his show 'Bussin' With The Boys' are no longer with Barstool. Mahomes reportedly responded, 'Yeah, that helps,' implying that Barstool's involvement was a dealbreaker. 'I didn't know Patrick Mahomes hated Barstool, but he does. I found that out today,' Portnoy explained. 'So now I don't like him.' Portnoy doubles down on his stance against Kanye West in defense of Swift The conversation pivoted to another moment of celebrity drama involving Taylor Swift—her long-standing feud with rapper Kanye West. Portnoy didn't hold back. 'Kanye is a piece of sh*t. Kanye is an absolute piece of sh*t,' he stated bluntly. He expressed disbelief at how some people still defend West after his various controversies. What's especially telling is Portnoy's unwavering tone. 'You know what I noticed? People that you don't like—there is no misinterpretation of where you stand on these people.' That bluntness is part of what makes Portnoy a polarizing figure in media, but also what his fans appreciate about him. Despite Taylor Swift's NFL presence thanks to her high-profile romance with Travis Kelce, Portnoy isn't swayed to root for the Chiefs. His loyalty lies with Swift personally—not necessarily with those around her. Also Read: Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift is costing NFL fans hundreds of dollars — and frustrated Chiefs supporters are calling it the 'Swift tax' In true Barstool fashion, Portnoy doesn't mince words, whether it's calling out Mahomes or slamming Kanye West. His blunt commentary continues to stir conversation in the crossover space between sports, media, and pop culture. Former All-American offensive lineman believes Nebraska should make changes to helmet
Former All-American offensive lineman believes Nebraska should make changes to helmet A former Pro Bowl offensive lineman doesn't appear to be a fan of Nebraska's helmet design. Former Michigan Wolverine Taylor Lewan posted a short clip of a recent visit to the Husker football facility on social media. Lewan is a three-time Pro Bowler who played all eight seasons of his career for the Tennessee Titans. Since retiring, he has hosted the podcast 'Bussin' With The Boys' with former Titans teammate and Nebraska linebacker Will Compton. Lewan's post regarding the helmet came with the following warning. "Nebraska fans are gonna be mad about the way I talk about the N, but unfortunately, I'm not wrong. Love Nebraska, love the fans but the N is just too small for the helmet." At the start of the 1970 college football season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers debuted their new helmet: a classic white helmet with a red stripe down the middle and an N centered on both sides. For the last 50-plus years, the helmet has remained the same in one form or another. Lewan believes the time has come for some kind of change. "They've got to do something about that N. Black, white, red, all the colors are great. I love the color scheme of Nebraska. Real fans are going to hate this but there is just something about that Time New Roman bold. It doesn't have the presentation I want it to have." I can understand where an outsider might see the current design as boring and needing an upgrade, but as a traditionalist, I like the helmet just the way it is. Nebraska has worn the rare one-off alternative design. The 2012 Wisconsin game featured the same helmet design but a black helmet instead of a white one, and the 2013 UCLA game featured the traditional white helmet design but a black stripe down the center instead of a red stripe. Other one-off designs featured a 2014 game against Illinois in which the Huskers wore a two-tone red and black helmet with a black N. The most unique design came in 2018 when Nebraska wore a helmet that honored the leather helmets from the early days of college football. While the traditional helmet design may be simple, it's also iconic. The helmet is immediately identifiable to most college football fans. Any significant changes would ignore decades of history, while any minor changes would be seen as change solely for the sake of change. Matt LaFleur admits he wasn't excited when Rams drafted Cooper Kupp, and here's why
Matt LaFleur admits he wasn't excited when Rams drafted Cooper Kupp, and here's why LaFleur: "And I know that makes me look like an idiot" It's never easy to know what a draft prospect is going to turn into as a pro in the NFL. Some players simply don't pan out despite having a terrific scouting report out of college, while others far outplay their lower draft slots. Cooper Kupp is certainly in the latter category, going from third-round pick to Offensive Player of the Year, triple crown winner and Super Bowl MVP in his fifth season. He was by no means a slam dunk when the Rams picked him 69th overall, especially considering he didn't test particularly well athletically and he was coming from an FCS school in Eastern Washington. Former Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur even admits he wasn't excited about the pick when Los Angeles made it in 2017. 'We've drafted players that I haven't been really excited about that two years down the line I was ecstatic about. And I'd be like, man,' LaFleur said on the 'Bussin' With The Boys' podcast. Cooper Kupp was one of them. 'We're in L.A. and we drafted Cooper Kupp and I thought we needed a speed receiver and it didn't take long before I realized I was like, I was like, 'Goddamn, I'm glad we got Cooper Kupp because he was a baller,'' LaFleur said. 'And I know that makes me look like an idiot because how couldn't you see that Cooper Kupp was going to be what he's what he's become?' Kupp quickly became a staple of the Rams' offense, and his ability to block is what turned 11 personnel into Sean McVay's base package in his first season in L.A. He was a do-it-all receiver for the Rams and had it not been for injuries, he would've put up even bigger numbers. Still, he ranks fourth in Rams history with 7,776 receiving yards, third with 634 catches and third with 57 touchdown receptions. Not even Les Snead and McVay could've seen those numbers coming from a third-rounder receiver out of Eastern Washington.

Claire Kittle is elated to be staying in San Francisco. The wife of 49ers tight end George Kittle reacted to his new contract extension — a four-year, $76.4 million deal with $40 million guaranteed — on Tuesday and said that he 'manifested this.' 'Beyond proud of you @gkittle you've manifested this ❤️,' Claire wrote, adding a red heart emoji, on her Instagram. Advertisement 'The Peoples TE is back again!' Kittle agrees to extension with 49ers that makes him highest-paid tight end ever
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- George Kittle agreed to a four-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers that will make him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history. Kittle announced the deal on the 'Bussin' With The Boys' podcast on Tuesday, saying the extension was worth $76.4 million over four years with $35 million guaranteed at signing. The deal keeps Kittle under contract with San Francisco through the 2029 season. The 49ers confirmed the deal with the only remaining member of the original draft class under coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch. 'In 2017, our first year with the 49ers, we selected a skinny tight end from Iowa whom we were really excited about. We had high hopes, but no one knew that he would become the player that he is today,' Lynch said in a statement. 'George's leadership, enthusiasm for the game, for his teammates, and the faithful are truly unique and special. He is an outstanding representation for the 49ers on the field and is an outstanding representative for the organization off the field with his investment in the local and military communities. He has a great sense of pride in his role and has put in the work to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL.' The 31-year-old Kittle was entering the final year of a five-year, $75 million extension that he signed in 2020. Kittle didn't show up for the first few days of the team's voluntary offseason program last week but arrived later in the week in a sign that a deal could get done soon. The $19.1 million average annual value of the extension tops the previous record for a tight end of $19 million set earlier this offseason when Trey McBride signed an extension with Arizona. The $35 million guaranteed to Kittle at the signing of the deal is also the most for any tight end. After having several recent contract negotiations run deep into the summer, causing players like Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa, Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams to miss at least some time in training camp, the Niners got this deal done with Kittle quickly. They still have one more big contract extension to finalize this offseason: They are in talks with quarterback Brock Purdy about a deal that is expected to pay him more than $50 million a year. Kittle has been one of the best all-around tight ends since entering the league; he thrives as a receiver, a blocker and is one of the best at making big plays after the catch. Kittle has been a first or second-team All-Pro five times in eight seasons and has made six Pro Bowls. His four seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving ranks tied for the second most of all time for a tight end, trailing only the seven for Kansas City's Travis Kelce. Kittle was a second-team All-Pro last season when he had 78 catches for 1,106 yards and eight TDs. Since being drafted in the fifth round in 2017, Kittle has had 538 catches for 7,380 yards and 45 TDs. He has the second-most yards ever for a tight end through eight seasons.
