The series, which filmed across locations including Majorca, Italy and Mexico, has been shelved with no plans for a return on Prime Video. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 6 Fred Sirieix and Emma Willis' global cooking contest The World Cook has been axed after two series Show execs opted not to renew the programme for a third season, despite it pulling in a steady stream of viewers since its launch in 2022. A source told me: 'Fans loved watching Emma and Fred on The World Cook and will be gutted it won't be back any time soon. 'It was a major show for both hosts, too, as it was their first foray into presenting for a global streaming channel, with the series going out around the world. A spokesperson for the show added: 'Whilst there are currently no plans to begin filming a third series of The World Cook this year, new audiences can still discover the series on Prime Video and fans can revisit and enjoy the episodes released so far.' The telly competition, produced in collaboration with travel firm TUI, saw cooks from 16 nations take on head-to-head kitchen challenges. A likely blow Contestants were then jetted all around the globe to prepare local food from each destination. Although losing the show will likely be a blow, Emma has a second series of Love Is Blind: UK lined up for Netflix, alongside Busted star hubby Matt Willis, and will be back for Cooking With The Stars and The Voice UK. Matt Willis reveals therapy was 'transformative' amid struggles
Matt Willis has said therapy has been the most important thing in his life other than his sobriety. The Busted star has been candid about his mental health and his problems with drink and drugs, previously revealing in his programme Fighting Addiction that there were times when he couldn't get to midday without alcohol and that at one point he was using six grams of cocaine a day. Matt, who is now sober, has been in therapy at various times in his life and is now shining the light on the process in a new television programme with his presenter wife Emma Willis. Speaking on The One Show, he said he believed viewers would see it could be "a beautiful experience". The star was on the BBC show on Monday, 12 May to discuss Change Your Mind, Change Your Life, which will follow real people having therapy sessions. Read more: Matt Willis reveals how therapy impacted him and wife Emma (Yahoo Lifestyle) Discussing his own experience, he said: "It's been transformative for me. And I've had quite a lot of therapy, first when I was about 21 in rehab, and then I went through different times where I needed it more than other times. "It's been the most important thing in my life apart than sobriety I'd say. It's kept me rooted, it's kept me kind of out of my own head at times." He went on: "I had a therapist once and I went in to speak to him and I went, 'I've been thinking' and he said, 'That's dangerous' and he said, 'Matt can I give you a piece of advice? Never go inside your own head without an adult present.' And I thought that was brilliant advice for me and I have listened to that. "I've had transformative moments in those rooms. It has changed the way I think about myself, which has changed the way I treat my family, my wife, my job, people I love. It's been amazing." Change Your Mind, Change Your Life will follow several people in therapy, including a woman with a fear of driving and a former athlete whose dreams were shattered by sudden illness. "You can see yourself in quite a few of them, and you see that you are not alone," said Matt. The star, who has three children with Emma, continued: "There is a stigma attached to therapy, especially in the UK. It's not very British is it? I always used to think it was quite an American thing to do, and we don't air our dirty laundry, we keep everything behind closed doors, which is not helpful." Change Your Mind, Change Your Life with Matt and Emma Willis, review: a shallow dive into deep waters
If you don't go to therapy, how about listening in while someone else does? Change Your Mind, Change Your Life with Matt and Emma Willis (BBC One) is a new series that lets the cameras into introductory sessions between therapists and their clients. The aim is to demystify the process and demonstrate how it may be able to help you. What are Matt and Emma Willis doing here? Who are Matt and Emma Willis, for that matter? Well, she is the lovely and empathetic presenter who you may know from The Voice, Big Brother or stand-in stints on This Morning. Matt is her husband, who was once a musician in Busted and two years ago made a documentary about his addictions to cocaine and alcohol. As a result of that, they're both big fans of therapy. But don't be misled by the title of this programme, because the couple don't have all that much to do with it. They introduce it, and pop in for home visits with the people we've seen undergoing sessions. But mostly they're not around. 'I may smile all the time, but I feel at the edge of a cliff,' one woman says at the beginning, and that's a theme of this first episode. Outwardly, the people seeking help seem okay, but they're barely holding it together. Nicole, a sunny girl from Fife, hates social situations because she's so worried that she'll say the wrong thing or people won't like her; she is also terrified of driving. Muna has successfully raised a 17-year-old daughter but feels such anxiety that she can't be in the house on her own. And James, a former sportsman who now has a career in finance, is so worried about his performance at work that sometimes he simply can't go into the office. Each is assigned a counsellor. Swiftly, the professionals get to the heart of the problem. James's anxiety escalated when he suffered a stroke, but his perfectionism could be traced back to a father who never told his son he was proud of him. James is 39 now, but the pain of his dad telling him he ran 'like a girl' was still there, even though he went on to become a semi-professional footballer. Muna was horribly bullied as a child. Nicole couldn't allow herself to express her feelings or vulnerabilities. The therapists offered practical strategies. James, for example, was advised by Prof Steve Peters – a psychiatrist who has worked with Olympic medallists and Ronnie O'Sullivan, and is the author of bestseller The Chimp Paradox – to train his mind out of catastrophic thinking by concentrating only on the task at hand, even if that's simply getting out of bed in the morning. Muna was invited to go back and have a conversation with her childhood self. Having never been in therapy, I found it interesting to learn what goes on, and I think it might encourage those who are considering it to take the plunge. More information could have helped, though. The professionals here were a psychotherapist, a psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist. What's the difference? Which one should you see for your particular problem? And it took only two sessions for these clients to have their lives changed, which seemed a suspiciously quick fix.
