8 summer colours that will dominate store shelves in 2025

The spring/summer 2025 runways painted a vivid picture of the season's mood through an unexpectedly soothing yet vibrant colour palette. Gone are the harsh neons of seasons past – 2025 welcomes a sophisticated spectrum of wearable hues that range from creamy neutrals to zesty brights. Here are the seven key colours that will define summer 2025 fashion, each bringing its own unique charm to your seasonal wardrobe. Butter Yellow This pale, creamy yellow has emerged as the season's most versatile neutral, replacing traditional beige in designers' collections. Seen everywhere from Chanel's elegant suits to Zimmermann's flowing dresses, butter yellow works equally well for daytime tailoring and evening gowns. Its soft golden undertones make it flattering across skin tones, while its neutral quality allows for easy pairing with everything from white denim to chocolate brown separates. Mocha Mousse Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025 makes a strong case for brown as the new black. Designers like Max Mara and Prada showcased the depth and sophistication of chocolate brown in luxurious linen dresses, tailored coats, and buttery leather accessories. This shade brings warmth to summer dressing while maintaining an urban edge, perfect for everything from office wear to weekend outfits when paired with lighter neutrals or bright citrus tones. Ballet Pink Moving away from the bold pinks of previous seasons, 2025 introduces a more delicate, romantic pink reminiscent of ballet slippers and rose petals. Alaïa and Miu Miu demonstrated how this whisper-soft hue can look modern and sophisticated rather than saccharine. The key is in its subtle blue undertones that keep it from feeling too sweet, making it ideal for everything from tailored suiting to ethereal eveningwear. Aperol Orange For those who crave color, designers offered the perfect solution in this juicy, cocktail-inspired orange. Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton showed how this vibrant shade can feel both playful and polished. Unlike previous seasons' neon oranges, this version has a slightly muted quality that makes it more wearable, especially when balanced with neutral tones like beige or white. It's the ultimate hue for making a statement while still feeling appropriate for daytime. Icy Blue Blue takes on a frosty, ethereal quality for summer 2025. Chloé and Prabal Gurung used this pale, icy tone to create looks that felt both fresh and sophisticated. The color works particularly well in the season's light-as-air fabrics, from sheer overlays to flowing silk dresses. Its cool undertones make it a perfect choice for hot summer days, offering a visual cooling effect that's both stylish and practical. Spring Green Green appeared across the spectrum on runways, but the standout was this bright, lively spring green at Valentino and Victoria Beckham. Neither too minty nor too olive, this perfect middle-ground green brings energy to any outfit without overwhelming. It's particularly striking in structured pieces like blazers and midi skirts, where its vibrancy can really shine against more neutral backgrounds. Sea Foam Erdem and other designers proposed this soft greenish-blue as a surprising neutral alternative. More interesting than standard beige but just as versatile, sea foam works beautifully with all the other colors in the 2025 palette. It's especially flattering in the season's flowing silhouettes and textured fabrics, adding depth and interest while maintaining an overall softness. Misty Lilac A surprise standout in the 2025 palette, misty lilac brings a soft, romantic touch to summer dressing. Designers like Valentino and Dior showcased this delicate purple-gray hybrid in flowing chiffon dresses and tailored separates, offering a sophisticated alternative to traditional pastels. With its muted, dusky undertones, this versatile shade pairs beautifully with butter yellow for a soft contrast or with chocolate brown for unexpected depth. Unlike brighter purples, misty lilac maintains a subtle, almost neutral quality that makes it surprisingly wearable for day and night. The summer 2025 color palette offers something for every taste, from those who prefer subtle sophistication to those who love bold statements. What makes this season particularly exciting is how these colors work together – imagine butter yellow with ballet pink, or mocha mousse with aperol orange. The combinations are endless, and all promise to capture the season's optimistic yet relaxed mood perfectly. – For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and Instagram Images: Supplied Feature Image: Pinterest

Hosk's Cannes Film Festival red carpet look was curated by stylist Dani Michelle, who has also collaborated with Daisy Edgar-Jones, whom she also dressed for the actress' appearance at 'The Phoenician Scheme' premiere on Sunday. Hosk is a mainstay on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. The Gia Borghini campaign star styled one of the red carpet's most ornate looks in 2023, wearing a tulle trompe-l'oeil gown from Viktor & Rolf's spring 2023 collection. The dress, which featured belted bows in a shade of pastel blue, was asymmetrically layered over a structured satin corset. 'When I saw this dress coming down the runway I was blown away by how when spinning and moving, the dress would look so surreal and beautiful,' Hosk wrote of her 2023 Cannes Film Festival dress on Instagram. 'Not only was it breathtaking to me but also reminded me to not take fashion too seriously.' The 2025 Cannes Film Festival concludes on Saturday. Films premiering at this year's festival include Wes Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme,' Julia Ducournau's 'Alpha' and Lynne Ramsay's 'Die, My Love.' Tyla's Coachella 2025 Stage Outfit Featured Dolce & Gabbana Archival Pieces, Bold Cutouts and Pandora Jewelry

Tyla made her Coachella debut on Friday, wearing a stage outfit styled by Ron Hartleben. Her look featured Dolce & Gabbana archival pieces, including a Swarovski crystal mesh bra and a silk jacquard belted skirt with glass fringes from the brand's spring 2000 collection. The 'Water' singer also wore a white crop top tied in a knot at the front and mesh tights with bold, circular cutouts throughout. The singer's look was completed by a series of gold and silver jewelry from Pandora. Tyla was announced as a Pandora ambassador on April 8, before her Coachella 2025 performance. I've always found their jewelry so fun to style because you can create your own unique pieces of jewelry,' Tyla said in a statement. 'It reminds me so much of home because mom always made jewelry, and the birthstone charms remind me of the beads I used to have lying around in my house growing up. Whenever our mother wanted us not to bother her, she'd give us a big container of beads and my sisters and I would make friendship bracelets all day. Now my Tygers can have matching friendship bracelets with me.' Tyla's performance was highly anticipated, especially after she had to withdraw from performing at Coachella in 2024 due to an injury. Since her appearance at the 2024 Met Gala, where she notably wore a Balmain dress made out of sand, Tyla has become a rising star in the fashion world. She recently partnered with H&M, starring in the fashion retailer's spring 2025 campaign. On the red carpet, Tyla has worn archival pieces by Roberto Cavalli, Vivienne Westwood and Gucci. Drew Barrymore had a color named after her! Here's how to decorate with the happy hue

You know you're a big deal when you get a color named after you. But even Drew Barrymore was shocked when the design company Pantone (which is famous for its "color of the year" reveals) announced they created an official hue bearing her name in honor of her 50th birthday. Talk about a great gift! What color did Pantone choose? Drew Barrymore Yellow is a pastel that's as cheerful and warm as the talk-show host herself. Interestingly, this shade has also been popping up all over the design world, in part thanks to KitchenAid, which named Butter Yellow its own 2025 Color of the Year. Spring is coming up soon, which makes now the ideal time to start decorating with this lovely color. (We're guessing it's only a matter of time before Barrymore's Beautiful housewares collection adds it to the lineup!) But don't limit butter yellow to Easter. The shade is surprisingly neutral and can make other colors like red and blue really pop. It also works well with darker wood tones. If you're hesitant to go all-in on a trending color (I get it!), take baby steps. Instead of buying a new yellow sofa, start with a throw pillow, a mug — or any of the other sunny, Barrymore-inspired finds below.
