Butterfly Festival returns to Springfield Botanical Gardens

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and Friends of the Garden are holding a festival on Saturday, June 14. According to a Springfield-Greene County Park press release, the 16th annual Butterfly Festival is happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Clone Memorial Park in Springfield. Springfield exhibit to showcase Route 66's unique attractions The event includes local vendors, conservation booths, a caterpillar petting zoo, tours of the Roston Native Butterfly House and free admission to the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden, the release says. Visitors are encouraged to view the importance of caterpillars, butterflies, moths and other pollinators during the activities. For more information, visit the park's website. Save the date: Butterfly Festival to return Sept. 6 to Arboretum

The 10th annual Butterfly Festival, sponsored by the University of Tennessee Arboretum Society, is coming Sept. 6. The UT Insect Zoo and two butterfly tents will be set up at the Arboretum Auditorium and surrounding grounds at 901 S. Illinois Ave. in Oak Ridge. Other activities will include kids' fun, educational speakers, local artisans, food trucks and dulcimer music. The event starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m., according to a news release. Co-sponsored by the UT Forest Resources Research and Education Center, the event is designed for children and adults of all ages.
