The 13 best bedding brands, according to interior designers
As the centerpiece of your bedroom and the base of your sleep every night, your bedding needs to help you achieve rest and suit your personal style. For one, it's important to find soft, breathable, and comfortable pieces for the best night's sleep, but it's completely fair game to want these foundational pieces to align with your decor spent hundreds of hours exploring the functional performance of everything from the best sheets to the best pillows, ascertaining their durability, comfort, and value. But we're just as curious about where to find the best bedding from a design perspective. I interviewed five interior designers from across the country to gather their recommendations of the go-to bedding brands they use for their clients and even themselves: Lisa Sternfeld, interior designer & founder of WLLW; Matt Donahoe, owner and principal designer at Bureau Interiors; Isabel Ladd, owner of Isabel Ladd Interiors; Colleen Bute Bennett, lead interior designer and founder of CBB Design Firm; and Dina Marciano, founder of Dina Marciano Design. MaxxColleen Bute Bennett of CBB Design Firm likes T.J. Maxx for its variety of budget-friendly, high-quality bedding. "I always shop for bedding on a budget at T.J. Maxx," Bennett said. "I think T.J. Maxx has got the best bedding because they actually go to the high-end brands and they purchase from them. You wouldn't think that they do, but we used to own a company in North Carolina, and the same products that they bought from us are the same that go on the shelf."Like Bennett said, you can find quality brands at T.J. "I love to add color and pattern to everything, even bedding," Isabel Ladd of Isabel Ladd Interiors said. "Anthropologie offers a variety of bedding options. The quality for the price is unmatched." Ladd frequently incorporates Anthro's quilts into her vibrant love Anthropologie's attention to detail in their bedding. It features vintage patterns, scalloped edges, and beautiful quilted detail, elevating a bedroom's at Boll & BranchKnown for its sustainable materials and ethical manufacturing practices, Boll & Branch is a beloved brand in the bedding space. Matt Donahoe of Bureau Interior Design recommends Boll & Branch for mid-range bedding. We also reviewed the brand's Signature Hemmed Sheet Set and were impressed with its soft feel and deep at BrooklinenOur team loves Brooklinen, which comes in a range of colors, designs, and styles. The interior designers agreed. We're also impressed with the brand's collaboration with Schumacher, featuring beautiful and timeless floral at SferraFor intricate luxury bedding, both Donahoe and Bennett recommend Sferra. "Sferra nails the subtle details of stitch work and decorative banding," Donahoe said. Created in Italy, the brand is known for its soft cotton and elegant clients love the premium feel of Sferra bedding. He said that once he incorporates Sferra bedding into their homes, "they are customers for life and frequently boast how attached they have become to the very best feeling when they lie down in bed."Shop at FretteFrette is a staple for luxury sheets, comforters, and duvets. They make sheets for luxury hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Kimpton hotels. with a rich history spanning over 150 years of providing luxury linens for hotels to royal families. "The Suzani was a bridal blanket given as their dowry. The more intricate the design and the larger the suzani, the bride was considered of more prominence. We love the bold, intricate details, and it's perfect for any room."Shop at ObasanCanadian-based mattress brand Obasan is known for its bedding staples like basic sheets and comforters made with organic materials. "I consistently specify Obasan's bedding essentials for my projects," Lisa Sternfeld of WLLW said. "Their products are beautifully crafted, with exceptional attention to smart details - you can instantly see and feel the difference compared to other options."Sternfeld recommends Obasan's latex pillows and organic wool comforters. She loves the adjustability of the pillows and the versatility of the comforter.
