Poll: We checked 10 Indy 500 weather forecasts. Which one do you trust the most?

It's almost time for the Indianapolis 500, a.k.a. the greatest spectacle in racing. There's already been plenty of drama on the track, but we are still chasing one piece of race day buzz: Will it rain on the 109th running? After last year's multi-hour delay due to rain, racegoers are anxiously watching the weather forecasts, wondering if Mother Nature will wave a red flag for the second year in a row. Meteorologists are watching, too, but as is typical there's little agreement on what the weather will be on May 25. One thing on which they all agree: There's at least some chance of rain. Predictions range from 50% (FOX59 and CBS4) to 20% chance (Weather Channel, Weather Underground and WTHR). Temperatures are also expected to be cooler this year but just how cool remains a question mark. At least three forecasts predict a high of 70 degrees while two forecast a high of just 64 degrees. So, we want to know: Which race day forecast do you trust most? Take the poll below to let us know, and come Sunday, we'll see which one hit the mark. ‘Concerned' Charles Barkley might reach out to Bill Belichick after CBS interview debacle with Jordon Hudson

It appears those in Bill Belichick's orbit are growing worried about the Super Bowl-winning coach in the aftermath of his awkward CBS interview and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson's role in it. Charles Barkley, the Basketball Hall of Famer and 'Inside the NBA' star, said on 'The Dan Patrick Show' on Wednesday that he's 'concerned' about the 73-year-old Belichick, whom Barkley says he's been friends with since Belichick coached the Browns in the early '90s. 'Well, this is a very slippery subject for me because Bill's one of my really good friends. I'm not sure what's going on. He's been a great friend for me for a long time,' Barkley said. 'I think he's gotta be very careful right now. This is starting to be on a very slippery slope. He's the greatest football coach ever, him and Nick Saban — for college, Nick Saban; for Bill, the NFL. Yeah, from what I'm hearing, it's starting to be a very slippery slope.' Advertisement 4 Bill Belichick during his CBS interview. CBS Advertisement Barkley, 62, says he doesn't like to discuss people's personal relationships, though the normally private Belichick's relationship with Hudson has been very out in the open with public appearances and social media updates. 'I will admit I'm a little concerned with some of the stuff that's going on, and I might actually reach out to him to make sure everything's good,' Barkley said. 'But I am concerned from what I'm hearing. It's not a good look right now, I'll admit that.' Belichick lashed out at CBS in a statement released Wednesday, claiming the network 'selectively edited' the interview and did not live up to agreement to focus only on what's in his new book. CBS fired back later Wednesday, saying there was no such agreement.

Video shows moment ex-Judge Joel Cano and wife arrested after allegedly sheltering illegal Tren de Aragua member in their home

New video captured the moment a recently retired New Mexico judge and his wife were hauled away in cuffs by the feds for allegedly sheltering a suspected Tren de Aragua gangbanger at their home. The footage, shot by KFOX14 News, showed ex-Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Jose 'Joel' Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, being taken into custody following the federal raid at their Las Cruces home on Thursday. At one point, the seemingly calm Democratic judge could be seen with his hands clasped behind his back as he spoke to a heavily armed FBI agent on the sidewalk. The judge was subsequently hit with a tampering with evidence charge, while his spouse was charged with conspiracy to tamper. Advertisement The raid came soon after it was revealed Cano had quietly tendered his resignation last month after the couple were accused of harboring Cristhian Ortega-Lopez — an accused illegal migrant who the feds say is a member of the violent Venezuelan gang. Immigration authorities had nabbed the 23-year-old alleged gang member at the couple's home on Feb. 28. In a separate raid at the home of the couple's daughter, ICE recovered four firearms — some of which allegedly belong to Ortega-Lopez, investigators said. Advertisement Cano, who had served as a judge since 2011, made no mention of the migrant's arrest in his resignation letter. Ortega-Lopez had allegedly been living in the couple's guesthouse after he was initially hired by Nancy to work as a handyman, according to court documents. 3 A Christmas photo from 2024 of Cristhian Ortega-Lopez in the Cano family home, court documents state. He allegedly entered the US unlawfully in 2023 — crossing the border near Eagle Pass, Texas, on Dec. 15. He was released just days after with a notice to appear before a federal immigration judge. He is now being held on federal charges for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

Richard Allen's attorneys appeal Delphi murder conviction after full "Bridge Guy" video leaked

Attorneys for convicted Delphi murderer Richard Allen have filed to appeal his conviction, CBS 4 in Indianapolis reported. On Nov. 11, a jury convicted Allen of the murders of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, Indiana. Allen was sentenced to 130 years in prison in December. According to CBS 4, online records show the appeal was filed on Tuesday, a day after the full 43-second "Bridge Guy" video was leaked online. Libby recorded a short Snapchat video of a man who police believed was the killer that was used in the trial. The video shows the girls walking on the bridge before their murders. A man's voice can be heard saying, "Guys, down the hill." Police circulated the photo and audio just days after the killings, but the case ran cold for more than five years until Allen was arrested in 2022. His appeal comes after multiple legal objections already filed by his attorneys in the wake of Allen's conviction. In January, his attorneys filed a motion with the trial judge, seeking to get his conviction overturned. They filed a 24-page motion outlining errors they claim were made at his trial last year. His attorneys questioned the timeline of the murder. During the trial, the jury spent about 19 hours deliberating over three days before finding Allen, 52, guilty of all counts. Police spent years searching for a suspect, investigating thousands of leads, and releasing multiple composite sketches of the suspect based on eyewitness accounts.

A great week with sunshine and mild temperatures

We're in for a fantastic week of weather! Expect daily highs well above average, with plenty of sunshine to enjoy. While it's a chilly start to our Monday morning, with temperatures in the 30s, a jacket is a good idea if you're heading out early. However, it'll warm up quickly, and by this afternoon, we'll see temps climb into the mid to upper 60s. For reference, the average high for this time of year in Indianapolis is around 49°, but starting tomorrow, that average bumps up to 50°. We'll be seeing highs well above that all week. Our warmest day so far this year was 68° back on Feb. 3, but it looks like we could hit 70° on several days later this week! As we get toward the end of the week, a strong low-pressure system will move across the country, bringing us the chance for heavy rain and storms Friday night into Saturday. Some of those storms could be strong, so keep an eye on the forecast as we get closer. And speaking of weather awareness, this week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week here in central Indiana. Our team of meteorologists will be bringing you important stories on tornado and flood safety, the significance of tornado sirens, and how you can volunteer to support the National Weather Service. Be sure to tune in to our 30 minute Weather Authority Severe Weather Outlook special on CBS4 Wednesday at 7 p.m. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
