CC Slaughters, one of Portland's oldest LGBTQ+ bars, to close for good in August
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One of the oldest Portland nightclubs in the city's LGBT+ community has announced that it will soon be closing its doors – for good this time.
In a , CC Slaughter's announced their plan to close and thanked patrons for 'making CCs a joyful memory for many, whether for a single night out or many nights out over the years dancing until 2 a.m.'

The nightclub is also neighbors with the Darcelle XV Showplace, the oldest drag entertainment club in the country.
This is not the nightclub and lounge's first battle with closure. Back in October 2020, they temporarily shut their doors during the coronavirus pandemic.
Although a Paycheck Protection Program loan helped the business reopen in April 2021, they have now said they will close permanently on August 3.
'Until that time we encourage all our friends to stop in and share with us a fond memory of your experience at our establishment,' the club said on social media. 'We look forward to saying 'goodbye' in a 'big-way'!!!'
